FTFA: "We haven't seen this many people come forward to speak out against a bill since Cosby," Kimmel quipped.

And with McCain saying he won't back the repeal, it appears that things haven't ended this badly for a Cassidy since that incident in Bolivia.

We shouldn't pay any attention to Kimmel, he's only an entertainer.  He's not a reality show star, after all.

On Tuesday, he called Cassidy a "liar"

I'm glad someone isn't afraid to use that word.

Critics have dismissed Kimmel as just a comedian and a member of the "Hollywood elite."

He also said that even though he was not a healthcare expert, "I think those people forget Bill Cassidy named this test after me. Am I supposed to just be quiet about that?"

Good.   I know people b*tch and whine when celebs take a stand, but honestly, he's got pulpit none of  us have and he's using it for the good of EVERYONE in the US (even the gump base that supports the stupid thing).    I hope he's allowed to continue.

And he definitively proves Jon Stewart's points from 2004:

Jon Stewart: See, the thing is, we need your help. Right now, you're helping the politicians and the corporations. And we're left out there to mow our lawns.

Paul Begala: By beating up on them? You just said we're too rough on them when they make mistakes.

Jon: No, no, no, you're not too rough on them. You're part of their strategies. You are partisan, what do you call it, hacks.

[...]

Jon: You know, the interesting thing I have is, you have a responsibility to the public discourse, and you fail miserably.

That and Kimmel isn't talking politics, he's talking personally.  How this will affect him, his baby, and people like him.

So, is the GOP saying Kimmel isn't qualified to talk about what actually happened to his kid?

This can not be stressed enough.  If Cassidy wants to use Kimmel as a shield, Kimmel certainly has the right, indeed the obligation to fire back.   Good for him in any case.

Trump is right. Pre-existing conditions are for pussies. They're like those queers who got captured in Viet Nam and were prisoners of war for years.

Kimmel also riffed on President Donald Trump's support of the legislation, as he doubted that the president has even read the legislation.
"He doesn't know the difference between Medicare and Medicaid," Kimmel said. "He barely knows the difference between Melania and Ivanka."

Yeh,one of them he wants to fark.

"He's just a celebrity", exclaimed the Republican Senator, before adding "and so am I."
The Senator then looked directly into the camera. "And that's why I am going to do whatever I can to stop him. Because there can be only one winner, and it will be me, the next Celebrity Apprentice!"
Camera pans to Trump, nodding.

You mean 1/10 of the number that go abroad because they can't afford US healthcare?

A report of McKinsey and Co. from 2008 found that between 60,000 and 85,000 medical tourists were traveling to the United States for the purpose of receiving in-patient medical care.[69] The same McKinsey study estimated that 750,000 American medical tourists traveled from the United States to other countries in 2007 (up from 500,000 in 2006).

Because "many" don't?

About 50,000 procedures a year.  Except that isn't all to the U.S.  Its just out of Canada.  And a fair number of those are emergency procedures in border states when Canadians are visiting.  In 3 border states where the stats where checked, 80% of procedures for Canadians were for emergencies.

Hundreds of companies whose shareholders all have to eat, whose bureaucracies have to be fed, and whose executives must be paid for their performance can really pad that cost. And that doesn't even mention the fact that providers of healthcare basically have to haggle with every insurance company hey deal with to get money out of them for services, and set their prices at ridiculous amounts in the hope they'll make a few bucks.
Gee, if only there was a way to simplify that. Too bad government=bad, or we might just have something.
