Concussions are also part of being Batman. And a professional wrestler. And Indiana Jones. Basically every hero you had in the 80s was probably brain-damaged.

What about Matthew Broderick?   He was Ferris Bueller and the protagonist in War Games.  Did he ever get hit in the head?

/he might have in Ladyhawke
//never saw it

Over in one, I'll get the lights.

Just because something happens doesn't mean you shouldn't seek proper medical treatment for it.  Breaking your arm is pretty common for kids, but those little guys go get a cast.

Brain injury would explain his awful driving skills.

I'm sure he'll feel the same way about 5 years after he retires, when he starts blanking out and can't remember his kids names.

Junior Seau was one of the toughest players in the NFL in the 90s. By the time he killed himself, he couldn't even go up the stairs in his house.

Didn't Brady say that he's not letting his kid play football because of the concussion thing? Granted I guess that's like an old coal miner whose made some good money in the mines but is pushing his kid to be an accountant because of the toll on the body.

As if anyone is allowed to lay a hit on Brady.

Google isn't great right now for finding sources because it's inundated with the Giselle comments, but all I could find is Tom Brady's dad saying he wouldn't let Tom play knowing what he knows now, Brady on the other hand said that it was important to know what we know but that he'd let his kid play contact sports.

Interviewer to Lawrence Taylor: Would you let your kid play football?

LT: Not if he can hit a golf ball.

Brady is fine now. But in 10 years when he can't remember why he wandered in to the kitchen or how to get home from the grocery store could be a problem. In the end, he'll still say he wouldn't have done anything differently.

Nah. He will be fine. Of all the horror stories about retired players you are hearing how often does it involve a QB. Bradshaw looks traumatized but really not a lot of them losing it. They aren't suddenly in bubble wrap because they were central to the concussion experience. They are ultra-protected because they are the guys making the money.

There is a new helmet the league is promoting this year that lowers concussion risks by 50%

None of the players want to wear it because it doesn't look cool

They get what they deserve
