He likes the attention.

There's no reason to overthink it. He craves adulation. He needs it like a drunk needs bourbon. He's not getting it by engaging in tit-for-tat arguments with the GOP as the rest of the country hates him, so he'll get it by engaging in actual work with Democrats as only the tiny minority of Trump followers hates him.

See, he's a businessman. He doesn't care. Your ethics, his morals - meaningless. As long as he gets what he wants and needs, he's not going to be kept awake at night thinking about how he gets what he wants and needs. If stomping newborn infants in an oak tub like he was creating Cannibal Zinfandel would do it, he'd already be rolling up his pants and feeling baby meat squish between his naked toes.

The GOP knew this going in, but they lost control when he started installing faces that he thought he could trust - neo-Nazis, white nationalists, fascist farkwits, crazy-ass bastards - and now he's angry that the GOP's angry, and that his followers are angry, and that everyone else is angry. He got a taste of what it'd be like working with the Democrats last time, and the cautious praise was enervating to him. His numbers went up just a tick, so he's going to try it again. And when his numbers go up again, he's going to want to keep doing this because he's addicted to attention and fame.

This will go on until early next year (February is my prediction), when the GOP decides that they have to put down their own white dog "for the good of the nation."

When this started to go down I was trying to think through whether it was a ruse or some genius plan.  I came to the conclusion it is neither, he is pissed at the people he he thought would help him so he took his brand new Mike Trout glove, his bat, and has dad's hardware store sponsorship and paid for team jerseys to another team.  For a short while I thought maybe he realized the religious right and the Amerika Uber Alles crowd was insane but no, this is just poor sportsmanship is my guess.

He wants a win and the Turtle and Eddie Munster can't deliver.  He'll hitch his wagon to Chuck and Nancy until they can't deliver.  Then maybe he'll defect to Mexico.

It's obvious Pelosi has him enthralled with her rendition of "I'm a little teapot". Article fails to mention, how he kept calling her "mumsy".

More of a blending of both.. Hedley also was a narcissist, but was able to plan and focus.  The Gov was basically a rube that could be shaped like silly putty by whoever was in front of him.

Trump is the worst combination of both of them..

If he wanted out, he knows how to declare victory - just farking lie and blame the swamp for anything bad - and resign.

He's profiting like mad off this so far.

He may be demented but he can read the bank statements.

Well let's see, you've got McConnell, Ryan and the facepalming "Freedom Caucus" (grow the fark up, btw, this isn't 8th grade).

Wouldn't you work with rational people too?

He's mad at Ryan and Turtle because they're not winning anything for him - I said that when the debt ceiling thing was agreed to.  Until and unless Ryan and Turtle start kissing his ass again, he's not going to be willing to work with them.

Looks like he's trying to kiss Pelosi's hand, and she's trying to be polite while friendzoning him into a handshake.

Based on that pic of him and Pelosi in the article, I gotta hand it to him, based on her body language it sure seems like he knows how to assert himself.

2017-09-14 01:27:12 PM
He's probably just telling them whatever they want to hear in order to get them out of the office so he can go back to watching Hannity.

Because he's a coward with a short attention span and no real interest in solving anything.

Paul Ryan bragging about an hour ago that the House has passed all appropriations bills to fund the government.  Specifically, bragging that this is the first time it's happened since 2009.

Remind me who the Speaker of the House was at that time and what party controlled the chamber...

Theory #5:  Trump has much more in common with Schumer (D., Wall Street) then he does with McConnell or Ryan.  Trump is a coastal animal.  The people who populate the Red States are just rubes and hicks, marks to be conned.  He will walk among them only to use them but the kind of people Trump really is comfortable with are people like Schumer and Pelosi.

I don't know about any of that - but I could definitely see him and Schumer teaming up to sell used cars in the Bronx.

"This car? You like this car here? Donnie - they like this car here. Write it up for them."
Chuck, this car here is no good. They need the premium class. You told them about the Premium class didn't you?
"Nah, I didn't think they could afford it."
Oh ay, Chuck. Fine people like this can find a way to afford class and luxury, amirite Let's get you into a Premium. Right this way.

2017-09-14 01:35:19 PM
A combination of agreeing with the last person he talked to and trying any tactic that appears to have a chance of making the Russia thing go away.

2017-09-14 01:35:24 PM
Maybe the democrats have learned that Trump takes the form of the last person he's talked to, so if they stay in touch with him he'll regurgitate whatever they tell him to.

No puppet, no puppet, you're the puppet.

I think that's a big part of it.  He will say whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear because he craves people cheering him.

"I will make America Great Again."
"Manufacturing jobs are going to come back in droves."
"I will cut taxes and get you a beautiful healthcare plan that covers everyone and everything for $12 a year."
"I will cut taxes and build up the military so much that there will be more soldier than civilians."

He's making America grate.

Praise is his heroin.  His pushers have cut off the supply thinking they can shame him back to the nationalist path but I guess they don't get him as much as they think.  Whitebart and the rest of the court jesters have been cuck'd by Kelly aka (((THE DEEP STATE))) of people who aren't whackadoodles apocalyptics.

So where's his next supply?  Moderately running the country as a third-way peacemaker.  Watch how much his approval ratings spike when he's actually serving the rest of the country and not marching us all towards war, death and violent discord.

Seriously, this is what I think.  The Republican party couldn't push his agenda, so now he's working with the Dems to piss off Republican supporters, so that they'll vote for people more evil than Republicans.

And Russia is going to seriously pwn the 2018 election and fark us all over.

It's Vlad's world now, and it wouldn't be happening if the deplorables would come to their senses and use their farking minds, but they'd rather ride the hate train to hell.

FortyHams: 1. Will this make me look good?

My theory's
1). If I get the Dem's to like me they wont push Mueller so hard to get me out.
2) Need to show I got something done.
3) I'm tired of this job and the only way their going to kick my ass to the curb is if I piss of the republicans so much they start impeachment.

I realize these are a bit off the wall but option 3 might be working based on the Wharrgarblll coming from the right.

I would laugh so hard, and for so long, if Donald pushes left for a few months, and when Republicans try to impeach him, Democrats turn around and say no.

I mean, they won't, because they have to be the adults in the room, but f*ck it would be funny.

It's simple.  Trump is a back-stabber.  You can't back-stab your enemies... therefore,,,

2017-09-14 01:40:16 PM
In DC you can only trust praise from your enemies and criticism from your allies. Anything else is drowned out by its extremely low SNR

All Governor LePetomaine wanted was a "hurrumph" out of that one guy. Trump needs way more ego stoking than that.
