Senile man repeats last thing he heard one moment then becomes combative the next: Film at 11

Poor = household income less than $50k per year.
Middle class = household income between $50k and $55k per year
Wealthy = Household income between $55k and $500k
Uppper Class = Household income greater than $500k.

2017-09-13 11:10:15 PM
None of us will see taxes raised on the wealthy in our lifetimes. That was a short-lived 20th-Century experiment that proved too successful. It won't be repeated.

2017-09-13 11:53:25 PM
Nothing he says means anything. It's just noise.

2017-09-13 11:54:18 PM
It hasn't happened. Let me know if it happens.

2017-09-13 11:56:36 PM
He also said we'd have great healthcare that covered everybody. How close was that to Trumpcare?

2017-09-13 11:57:24 PM
He says a lot of things. Never listen to what he says, observe what he does.

2017-09-13 11:58:44 PM
Well, he did say people would get tired.

2017-09-13 11:58:52 PM
Not if the house and senate republicans have any say they won't.

This is it. This is the GOP white whale, all the voter suppression,  disenfranchised voters and Russian colluding has been based on this one goal. To let the already wealthy pay no tax AND get even larger write off so they will make money off of the poor twice as fast.

They won't let trump stop them.

2017-09-13 11:59:06 PM
Trump's still a complete idiot, but I do love that the GOP can't control him, either

2017-09-14 12:03:02 AM
Careful there, Boss Tweet. You might get impeached for pissing-off the GOP's masters.

2017-09-14 12:03:20 AM
Well, the last people he spoke to were Democrats.

2017-09-14 12:04:01 AM
Oh, they "may" have to? Avoiding a lie by being noncommittal?

Better than he usually does.

2017-09-14 12:05:39 AM
So Trump Is willing to pay $5 in taxes then?

2017-09-14 12:06:48 AM
I cannot wait to read the Conservative media tomorrow.

2017-09-14 12:07:03 AM
Define "wealthy".

2017-09-14 12:10:02 AM

Fiona Nine Tails: I cannot wait to read the Conservative media tomorrow.

The far right is losing their mind over the supposed DACA deal.

The Homer Tax: He says a lot of things. Never listen to what he says, observe what he does.

The empirical evidence is that what he does is ALWAYS:

a) Nothing.
b) A blow to people who aren't rich and usually white.
c) A danger to life on this planet.
d) An out of touch game played with the rights and dignity of others.

Sometimes a mix of two to all of these things.

The only certainty is it will be myopic, ignorant and self-aggrandizing. Also almost always insincere dishonesty come to fruition.

He needs to not exist. Barring that, only removal from society in any serious capacity is acceptable.

Some days I just can't deal with this anymore, I just helped open a new restaurant and have spent hours in the last few days trying to convince people not to qult.

Shut up, Donald. Just shut the fark up.

2017-09-14 12:10:49 AM
This is the GOP maybe having to deal with the fact that Trumpy has no core values or morals beyond "what is best for Donny J Trump in the short term?". I mean, as others have said, I'll believe it when I see it, but make no mistake: Donny would ban all abortions in the morning and all guns in the afternoon if he thought each was the best move for him.

But yeah, congressional repugs wont let him increase taxes on the wealthy even a little bit.

2017-09-14 12:12:01 AM
He's just sticking it to republicans because he got bored sticking it to democrats. In a month or a week he'll get bored again and he'll start sticking it to someone else. For the next three years.

2017-09-14 12:13:32 AM
He said the same thing many times during the campaign.  I will believe it when he signs on the line that is dotted

Naido: He said the same thing many times during the campaign.  I will believe it when he signs on the line that is dotted

He does like signing things. Evil orders, walls in disaster areas, etc.

2017-09-14 12:19:07 AM

FarkMeAmadeus: Donny would ban all abortions in the morning and all guns in the afternoon if he thought each was the best move for him.

So he's a true independent then. A party of one.

2017-09-14 12:19:35 AM
I can only assume Trump is buttering himself up to the Democrats to convince them to punt when the Mueller report comes out. "Do you want me, who's willing to work with you...or Pence?"

2017-09-14 12:21:57 AM
Yes, the wealthy should pay more. Funny thing though, when you get up there it never really seems like you're doing as well as you figured you'd be doing with X amount of money. Because you (hopefully) do put away a fair bit for retirement, and by the time you get up there many are putting kids through college and perhaps helping out with parents in nursing homes. You look around you and see people who are similarly employed and they are driving very nice cars and traveling to nice exotic destinations for vacation. So people tend to always think that the extra burden should be on those making more than them. Thus, people who make 90K believe in it kicking in at 100K, those making 180K can see it kicking in at 200K etc.. It's not just being selfish, it's that you just don't experience it the way it looks from below.

He also said universal health care was a good idea.

Then he championed a bill to take it away from 23 million Americans.

He said he had a secret plan to defeat ISIS and win in Afghanistan.  That plan was "do what Obama did but with more dead civilians."

And the astonishing thing is, to him, any of these are fine as long as he could hold a rally and declare victory.  He doesn't seem to know it is not an episode of a reality show.

Not a chance Ryan or McConnell will ever let this get momentum in Congress, but to have Trump say this has to be giving them the vapors.

Right, because we should totally put trust in things Donald says...
...Mexico has now agreed to pay for the wall, and they're joyous at the honor to do so.
...the ACA has been reformed, and now all Americans have the BEST coverage, and it costs less.
...he's not doing anything to roll back protections/rights to LGTBQ people.
...coal is now the dominant industry in America, employing millions of workers with amazing pay and benefits.
...US-made steel is now being used exclusively throughout the country, no more cheap Chinese steel.
...he's released his tax returns.
...he's hired a special prosecutor to go after Hillary Clinton.
...he's divested himself of any business interests that might cause a conflict of interest...

Best. The best. President. Ever.

Watch he will cut marginal rates but raise effective  and be vilified for it by the majority of progressives because they do not understand such things.

Is it just me, or do the Democrats appear to be moving as a block?

Democrat leaders understand that the enemy if their enemies isn't their friend, but is willing to take wins from any side when the GOP can't give Trump a single win.

People think Trump will turn on the Democrats, rather it's the other way around. I think Democrats are willing to make Trump happy with wins until the GOP has no choice but to impeach him for not following their non-plan, and Trump will turn his entire base against them if they do so. Technically the Democrats don't even have to vote against Trump if the GOP decide to boot his ass out before midterms, only a small number have to even play along.

Just wait until people realize he considers a homeless beggar on the street corner to be richer than he is...

Depends on how you look at the expiration of the Bush tax cuts in 2012.

The guy who doesn't understand something as basic as the diminishing value of money, and who believes Trump's bullshiat about America having the highest tax rates in the world, is criticising others for not understanding how tax rates work?

And like hell we're going to give free access to higher education to the unwashed masses again. They become too smart and unruly as a result. Just look what they did in the 60s.

2017-09-14 03:12:11 AM
So, have they found a correlation between what Trump says and reality?

2017-09-14 03:19:59 AM
Just so you know, Grumps, this pretend likey-likey with Democrats doesn't make Mueller or Schneiderman go away. You're snared and you can't bully, buy or schmooze your way out of it.

Now that would be asking the wealthy to pay more.

TFA is about maaaaybe slightly increasing personal income tax on high-income earners while giving huge breaks to the really wealthy in the form of reduced corporate taxes etc.

2017-09-14 06:26:19 AM
I wonder which wealthy asshole managed to piss him off this time?  Doesn't stop me from hoping that he actually does this, but so far, from what we've seen, this is probably a threat.

^^^This.  They want people just smart enough to run the machines without losing too many fingers, and other people to keep those people in line.

But, since the next stage of automation is just beginning to take off, they just don't need so MANY of us, so they're getting out from under social safety nets and healthcare, too.  They'll be able to keep enough of us around to do anything that isn't quite able to be efficiently automated yet.  You know, like pets.
