Do they just whisper "You'll be born in Missouri" and the fetus loses the will to continue?

Missouri: The "Show Me (Crazy people)" state.

The study's findings add important new information, the researchers note, because little research has compared the safety of surgical abortion with the safety of misoprostol induction during the second trimester. Because medical abortion might have been favored for women with more advanced pregnancies, it is noteworthy that the greater safety of D&E persisted after gestational age was taken into account, they add.

"When skilled operators are available, dilation and evacuation should be considered the preferred method for second trimester abortion," the researchers conclude, emphasizing that a woman's preference must also be considered. They recommend that laminaria be inserted before D&E to reduce the need for intraoperative cervical dilation and thereby reduce the risk of complications. Women should be advised that their odds of needing surgery are fairly high if they have a medical abortion, the researchers note, and if a woman and her physician select medical abortion, "misoprostol is the medication of choice."--S. London

Missing from the study was any data related to the impact on any of the state legislators.

Its Columbia outpost will soon offer surgical abortions, too, and two others will likely follow.

Well, Missouri is a swing state, a purple state I like to call it, so anything can really happen there on the political spectrum.

I'm not sure what that chicken story had to do with the rest of TFA.

Even though this is good, don't expect Missouri to be on the path to being an example of a sensible moral values.  Once I was down there and I was talking to a guy with a bolo tie drinking Jack Daniels is on his way to church

Someone please explain the animal sacrifice thing?

I know there's a sect of Samaritan Jews who still do it in Israel and I think some Hindu denominations but I've studied hundreds of religions and cults as a hobby but never came across an American Christian one that did.

Linky?

You eat the animal after sacrificing. So it's a way for the priest to eat some tasty BBQ for free.

Federal courts are holding back the derp.

Missouri has a GOP supermajority in both houses and a Republican governor. It went for Trump more than Texas or Georgia.

Animal sacrifice is part of the Judeo-Christian heritage. Jews used to engage in public displays of sacrifice until their priests ruled it had to happen at just the one main temple and then the Romans destroyed that temple around 70CE.

Animal sacrifice does happen in Santería which while not directly Judeo-Christian does incorporates a lot of Christianity and its saints, and is practiced in the USA.

"God gave us man dominion over life," Moon said on camera moments after he sliced a bird's head off with a knife, causing the animal's wings to flap erratically. "He allows us to raise animals properly and care for them and then process them for food so we can sustain life. And that's what I'm doing here with this chicken. So we've been called back to this special session for the primary purpose of supporting life, protecting the unborn specifically."

Look Christians, the Satanists are doing the heavy lifting by standing up for the rights of everyone.
You would join them if you thought freedom applies to everyone and not just those who think like you do.

Don't insult the Satanic Temple, they are a great group of people fighting for the rights and freedoms of all people. In fact their primary purpose is to counter the attempts by right wing Christians to force their views on others.

The group was originally designed to meet the requirements to get the benefits of being a faith based organization while being repugnant to the right wing. They are usually first in line when state and local governments try to get around the first amendment for their Christian stuff by saying that others can apply.

Meh, I wasn't insulting them, so lighten up, Francis. I was mostly thinking in terms of Satanists as the Jesusy idiot's idea of ultimate evil. I am fully aware of the Satanists' various legal activities. They're cool by me. But I'm an atheist, so ... (shrug)

I am highly amused by their activities here in Jesusy idiot Oklahoma.
