In St. Augustine, the dry moat at the Castillo de San Marcos filled, so that's something.

So a bit of damage, but no throngs of morbidly obese "super fans" in their hover rounds and their ill-behaved offspring cutting into lines, yelling profanities at each other, and generally being rude?

Disney World ain't what it used to be for me. I rather would go to the beach and even Key West once they clean up from Irma and stuff.

If I ever win a megamillions lottery which I don't even play I'm gonna pull a Cartman and do two things.  Rent my nearest Six Flags(in Georgia) and WDW each for a day or two, at separate times of course  .  Fully staffed and fully up and running with no one else allowed in.  A man can dream.

You better win the megabillions lottery then.  Disney makes a shiat-ton of money off that park in a day.  Blowing your entire winnings to get them to piss off that many children - and thus that many parents with bank accounts - does not seem practical.  Short term gains would not be worth it to them in long-term lost gains.  Disney has tried to get hospitals to hawk Princess stuff to new mothers because they want those kids brandwashed as soon as possible.  They know their revenue stream, and one grown-ass dude is not it.

fngoofy: girlygirlmpls: I would have gladly let Irma destroy the "Small World" ride.

Look,
It's a world of laughter and a world of tears.  It's a world of hope and a world of fears.
There's so much that we share, that it's time we're aware, it's a small world after all.

One of my family's favorite rides.  Always something new to see... and look at the colors.

The only good thing I can say about it is there's usually no line. There's a reason for that, of course. But hey, if I need something to do and a place to cool off while waiting for a nearby FastPass to kick in, then sure, I'll go.

I've been to Disneyland, Disneyworld and Disneyland (Hong Kong).  Are there really lots of morbidly obese super fans at the park?  You still have to do a fair bit of walking around the park (even their smallest park is sizeable) - wouldn't seem a great way for someone obese to spend the day.

As for jerks cutting lines and being rude... unfortunately I have to agree with that.

When we do WDW we walk 10-12mi a day for the entire week.  The hover round folks seem to have certain times of the year when they are in greater abundance, but you will see them.

"Here's What a Sad, Empty Disney World Looked Like During Hurricane Irma"

So, rather like the lives of it's visitors at other times then?

My GF was stuck at the Disney resort during the hurricane.  Meal service was restored Monday morning, and they reopened the waterpark and pools yesterday at 2:00pm. Lots of scattered debris, but not a lot of damage.   Thankfully, the only time the bar closed was during the actual hurricane.
