That's hot.

"Chainsaw-Wielding Nun" would be a good band name.

2017-09-13 08:14:40 AM
You might say she's got a bad habit, and was having nun of that tree's laying about.

August11: That's hot.

She really lubes my chain.

That's the name of my Bad Religion tribute band.

Sister, I think God will forgive you if you wear some safer, more secular clothing while you wield a chainsaw. I'd hate for her habit to get caught up in the chain

2017-09-13 09:22:15 AM
She weed-whacks for the Lord!

// that sounded funnier in my head.

2017-09-13 09:23:10 AM
Watching her pull the chainsaw back and forth like a handsaw made me really anxious.

Reiderate: Watching her pull the chainsaw back and forth like a handsaw made me really anxious.

Yeah... Not only dangerous, but that's kind of the whole point of a chainsaw... You don't have to pull your saw back and forth anymore...

2017-09-13 09:27:21 AM
I don't know what's scarier - nuns or clowns.

She could either use a new chain or sharpen that one.

I saw this movie before. After the zombies are dead she pulls something else.

Wearing of the habit isn't required of modern nuns (though this may vary by order)....some choose to wear it out of ha tradition .

The opening phrase in the headline got my hopes up, but it ended rather unsatisfactorily.

Frankly I'm not surprised.  The nuns I've met are some of the toughest self sufficient people in the world. Except for the college aged novices. Those gals are usually plain hot.

This story is actually quite awesome. Hope I don't go to Hell for making fun on nuns or anything like that.

The new green light link queue is so long that the story is yesterday's news by the time it comes on. Back when I still had teeth, FARK was nimble.

Been farking around on Youtube this morning, came across this earlier:

Neil deGrasse Tyson schools former GM exec Lutz on climate change
Youtube Klgp_qDiRhQ

The Lutz guy was bragging about putting his money where his mouth is by buying a house in the Keys (2012).  It's not often I hope for someone's house to be destroyed, but I'll make an exception this one time.

Nice to see the sister isn't having nun of that storm debris nonsense around her neck of the woods.

I went to a parochial Catholic school. By the time I attended, there were only two actual nuns teaching/working in the school, one of whom looked and dressed exactly like the novitiate from Sister Act, wimple and all (she later ditched that.)

She was also the only feminist Catholic nun I have ever encountered, to the point where if your last name ended in 'man' id est Breeman or Houseman, she would actually use Houseperson instead.

Takes all kinds, my gran used to say but that was some weird shiate growing up.

The term "feminist Catholic nun" has mother lode of irony in it.

[She] said she does not know when her school will reopen, as the air conditioner was damaged during the hurricane. Additionally, downed trees cover six of the school's 40 acres, and a wall has been blown in.

You know it's Florida when trees fall down and a wall collapses, but top problem on the list is the broken AC.

It was commented on for many the year. 6th grade comes along and after much sturm and drang, they decide to teach sex ed. She taught the girls' classes (because of course they divided us up for sex ed.)  Walking through the door, I asked her what a nun knew about sex. She replied she hadn't always been a nun.

I had my first glimpse into how one's past could lead to future extremism.

Louisiana_Sitar_Club: But......the tree wasn't blocking the road.  It posed precisely the same hazard that you would get from an intentionally planted hedge.

Maybe not exactly.

Once all the foliage on it dries, it becomes a fire hazard.
Cutting trees and limbs into smaller sections also speeds clean-up.

We have a few spots here where the road is passable but it was necessary to clear downed branches to get to people's front doors.

OR, you are right, she was farting around with a power-tool while wearing a habit to make some sort of obscure statement about "helping".

I was the type of student who would have ignored any teacher who didn't use my correct last name.  You can't use my name correctly, then you must be talking to someone else.

And yes, I went to Catholic school for a couple of years.
