The NIH can be worryingly science-y. They come up with all sorts of stuff you'd never see in a typical home-schooler's textbook.

Huzzah for biomedical research!

The American public will never truly understand just how important NIH is.

Thank you, Lamar. Keep it up.

Fake science that saves fake lives. Bad!

This shiat's like stem cell research.....you're all wound up about it until a loved one gets diagnosed with Alzheimer's and then you realize that had you actually educated yourself with facts and science and not what your Pastor was blathering on about your spouse might not have to be going through this at all.

Let me guess.  NIH mentioned a condom once.

I noticed a recurring theme from the various clergy I've met. God's mysterious plan usually includes being a dick and making people suffer.

Right.  That way when you're helpless over something, you turn to the clergy and they get to feed you their crap and maintain their power over you.  Fifty bucks please.

Sweet! I get a new Ferrari next year, too! I was worried there for a bit.

Thank you, Trump.
You are so hated that the Republicans are voting to increase funding just to mess with you.
Please keep it up,
America

Cut the dick-waving shiat. The NIH have had many supporters in the Republican party over the years, including Mr. Alexander. This isn't about Trump.

Well, it was Lamar Alexander that voted yes. If he votes according to Trump's demands 92% of the time it's still genuinely a surprise when he votes against him.

It compliments the CDC memo today reminding staff not to speak to the press about diseases.

The fact that republicans did this to piss off other republicans is just wonderful.

I hope they keep trying to one-up each other with dick moves like this.

As someone who has authored 3 NIH grants (none of which were funded) allow me to applaud NIH funding.

I've co-authored grants that were funded, and been part of reviewing grants. Despite my failures, the system, while not perfect, works pretty well.

Total bullshiat. I've never heard a clergy member say please.
