Most of the 'kids' you see selling magazines. Are runaway kids, or early 20 somethings kicked out on the street and get lured into 'make money fast' scams.
The guy selling subscriptions was probably one of those..young and dumb.
The jobbers will get these street kids with the idea of big bucks, clean them up, buy them some new pants and let them loose in neighborhoods with premade speils. "Look, my folks are making me do this because I can win a trip to Europe...etc".
The kids will have to pay out of their sell receipts to the jobber for hotel rooms, food, and transportation...when the tally is made...they're basically indentured servants.

I had a pair of really pretty girls come to my door selling magazine subs one day. So pretty I broke down and got one. Then I got a letter saying the magazine I had wanted was unavailable. I figured I'd been scammed, but I sent them a request for a refund and a check arrived straightaway.

Yes, totally believable.  A "magazine".

That is a popular Franco-Italian style and is called the Nota d'Mitting Ma Létpat Ternbaldness. It is usually adopted right before the Thai-Russian style called Phuket Imshavigitalloff

My folks still get a monthly copy of Surfer magazine that my brother bought from magazine selling kids some 20 years ago.  I dont think anyone has paid for them after the original 2 year or whatever plan was covered.  They still give them to him periodically.

I always wondered how anybody (the magazine, the jobbers, the kids) make any money with a business model like that.

This story is one of the Highlights of my day. For best results in the trial, I recommend they not concentrate on the Vanity. Fair trials are important to Us.

My kid did it, with my permission, when he was 15.  Made over $1500 his first month. Then discovered there's less work and more money in weed.

Because the cost of the advertising is based on the number of subscribers. If they can prove it's a live subscriber that makes the ads cost more.
