(Business Insider)   Steve Mnuchin's wife just got into an argument on Instagram in what will be known as her "Let them eat cake" moment, though for her it was "We paid more taxes"   ( businessinsider.com) divider line

Yeah, the problem here is that the people who are going to be outraged about this and things like this are already outraged and getting to the point where their continuous outrage is starting to make things that should be outrageous but aren't quite as bad as the last outrageous thing seem normal. And the people who aren't outraged about this will never be, and in fact think that an invitation to eat cake is pretty farkin' cool. "Cake? I like cake."

Condescending is certainly the way to go here.  Make sure the hate of the Trump administration never cools for a second.

I can't bring myself to care about this. Go after Mnuchin directly. Did you think he'd marry an altruist?

That is one ugly American.

This is called advertising. You don't do this when your husband is 5th in line to the throne.

Violating that same rule that Kellyann Conway did when she hyped Ivanka's clothing line.

I think they are all out of farks to give regarding such things.

Yet again ethics and conflicts of interest come into the foreground and the rich are upset that anyone would dare ask them to follow rules.

If we're gonna get technical, her husband pays more in taxes and may contribute his expertise on finance to our economy.... she is just a farking younger bimbo he married after divorcing his first wife when she got older. This contribution can be made by pretty much any mail-order bride and due to the wide availability of said bride resources, it's not particularly valuable.

This is the sh*t we should be angry at. Wedge issues are nice little tools they use to keep the Lower Classes busy while they sit back, eat cake, and laugh at us.

Rich people worry so much about their money, the kind thing to do would be to relieve them of all of that stress.

Not sure. I just thought she started farking that half muppet because she turned 35 and realized her "acting career" wasn't going to happen.

The best way to get all that weight off their shoulders is to relieve them of their head.

I'm shocked that a colossal dork like Mnuchin could find an actual live woman to marry him.

Lol, I thought the headline was intentional. But given the comments guess it was a happy coincidence.

One of her few roles of an actress was on CSI:NY where she actually was killed with a guillotine while dressed as Marie Antoinette. Talk about ironic foreshadowing.

Colossal dork who got an Executive Producer credit for about 30 movies. All he needed was a trail of cocaine to land a washed up "actress" like this dingbat.

So, just looking up the retail prices on some of the tagged items:
* Roland Mouret pants - $989.00
* Hermes scarf - $395 - 4,000 (depends on the type, length, etc.)
* Valentino Rock Stud Heels - $500 - 1,100
* Tom Ford Sunnies - $465 - 1,000

So, yeah, she's beyond tacky to draw attention to her outfit - When you're wearing several grand in just clothing and shoes, and still think that isn't wrong... yeah.

She didn't marry Mnuchin, she married the lifestyle he can supply.

I like that guy ralphale, tho. He's got his priorities right. I, too, am glad we've got some class back in the Executive Branch by having these gorgeous women on our leaders' arms. That sort of eye candy is so important to smoothing the way to sound policy. I mean, who would want to look in a window that didn't have the right dressing. How would we inspire anyone to try and come in through that window, breaking into the upper class and entering the halls of power? Entrepreneurs need that kind of model!
