Since the accident, the police department has been maintaining a list of locations where drunk drivers are coming from in an effort to crack down on businesses violating the city's liquor laws, said Houston police chief Art Acevedo.

We have a state law in Massachusetts requiring judges to ask where a DUI defendant was drinking. Police and ABCC investigators can use that information to target enforcement.

They don't work when colored people need to be murdered for fictious reasons.

So I counted 4 officers in the vicinity.  The main one the story was about, the guy interviewing the driver in his car, and then 2 walking up.  The guy that got hurt and the other cop were behind his car...

I guess what I'm getting at is I'm not understanding the geometry that caused this to happen where the 2 officers had to jump but the person in his squad didn't get hurt.  For that to happen the drunk would've had to go between his squad and the wall where he jumped from, but those officers weren't hit, so they would've had to hit his squad, at 75mph with the door open and the person being interviewed in the back would've been messed up too.

Also cars aren't ping pong balls.  How would've he been hit a second time?

I'm thoroughly confused about how this happened?

Jumping initiated the act of falling?

Two problems with that:

1) It doesn't matter if there is video of non-Caucasian people being murdered by cops or not. The cops will still get off with minimal effort.  Reference: Garner, Castille

2) Cops murder white people for no reason as well, just not as often.

The Houston Police Department has released the body cam footage from the officer who fell from an exit ramp in late July after jumping to avoid a suspected drunk driver.

It's just so much easier to kill a minority. Especially if you can find one in commission of literally any crime.

Maybe cops aren't even racist. Maybe they're just too lazy to go through the hassle of killing white people.

My city knows where all the drunks come from, but it's country clubs after a day of golfing so they cruise the major passthroughs and catch out of towners.

From the headline of the ARTICLE:
Body cam video shows Houston police officer fall from freeway while avoiding suspected drunk driver

You can quote the article you want.   Subbyy quoted headline.  Headline said he fell.  Obviously the fall was after a jump.  It's poor writing.

I'm not saying that all.  I'm just not understanding how this happened.  While police (and many other fields of employment) have their issues, the article and video are not very clear.  Why didn't they mention other civilian?  There's no way that person came away unscathed.  This is article to show the impact of impaired driving, why not mention the whole repercussions of it including civilian in backseat.

Poorly written article.

The drunk swerved around the flashy light car at the last second, then swerved back into her lane because "that motherfarker is crazy, parked in the highway like that!" And hit the stop non-flashy light car in front of the flashy light car.

/Drunks fixate on the flashy lights and are more likely to hit objects in the vicinity of flashy light cars.

The officer was in obvious pain but couldn't feel his arms and legs, all the while struggling to breathe. That was an uncomfortable listen.

No, I don't usually talk about funerals at them.

Like when cops cause funerals by murdering people.

He jumped over the guardrail on an exit ramp and fell sixteen feet. Average clearance of a highway overpass, sixteen feet. Difference category, pedantic.

Well stop forgetting your gun bag.

I couldn't help thinking of Deadpool yesterday.  Usually when I'm driving the Olympia onto the ice, skaters are leaving the ice.  But one time, four skaters stayed on.  Not a big deal, some skaters aren't going to cause a problem.  I do the perimeter, they don't move.  I turn to go up center, and there they are, center lane.  I had to blow the horn at them, and I'm thinking about yelling, "YOU SHOULD MOVE, OR YOU'LL DIE IN 5 MINUTES!"  But I figured I might get a talking to for that.

Here's the Olympia, getting it's drink of hot water.  We're borrowing it from the Firebirds while our Ice Cat is getting repairs.  I prefer the Olympia.

skozlaw: 2) Cops murder white people for no reason as well, just not as often.

Actually, cops shoot far more white people than black people.

Yes, they proportionally shoot more black people per capita than white people, but blacks are also involved in a significantly higher portion of violent crime (per capita) than white people.

Also, of all the police shootings, only 4.3% (so far, in 2017) were unarmed (which does not necessarily they did not present a threat). A majority of those who were unarmed when killed by police this year, were white (14 vs. 8).

I was watching COPS and an exuberant cop leapt off an overpass like an action hero to go after a drunk that got loose from him. The camera guy caught the drunk climbing over an fence and disappearing, while Action Jackson lay writhing on the ground holding his foot.

It's probably the fault of Obama and the media, but I laughed.
