I heard the House Republicans have now decided to declare a code orange.

Heh.  Twitler has no idea who really is in charge, does he?

It was interesting that Paul Ryan very obviously in view of the press "rushed" over to the white house just before the vote. His staff then leaked that he was "telling Trump he didn't have the votes was asking Trump what he should do" I'm not sure that play will work, they're both getting blame. One for shiatty writing, one for shiatty deal making and being too stupid to make deals because he didn't know what was in the bill and what could be compromised to get votes.

Sure Donnie. Go ahead and declare war on the Freedom Caucus. They have practically no power at all and you have a Mandate from the People and are the Most Popular President of All Time. They'll be begging you to take them back in no time.

/literally, at no time will they be begging him to take them back
//no matter who loses, we all win
///My money's on FC over the shiatgibbon - they both live by the ultimatum, but FC is crazier and willing to go further

The problem, and one of the core failures of Trump, is that he is totally unable to deal with details and nuance.   He is the ultimate authoritarian type who deals in pure black and white thinking with no understanding of gray areas.  He hates details.  He has never been directly involved in any of the details of any of his deals.
He admitted in sworn testimony that he hasn't read any of his leases.  He asked that national security briefings be reduced to a series of bullet points on a single page.

You can not govern like that.  It will not work.

This is basically the pinnacle of Trump's negotiating skills:

nope, I want him to see the Russia thing come all the way to a boil.  While I would love to see him escorted to a prison, I would be happy with him having to resign in shame.
And I hope at some point we get the last 10 years of his taxes so people can see just what kind of a man he is.

Obama and Biden need a weekly show on HBO where they recap Orange Hitler's week.  I'm pretty sure Trump's head would explode within the first 10 minutes.

Gorsuch will be confirmed.

But, yes, it's a tie. Still, they control both branches that make laws. Not a lot of excuses for not being able to make laws when you control both the executive and legislative.

Nope.  He has no farking clue how government works.  He's already proven that.  And he has no desire to learn how to work with government.

Considering how widely Putin's been throwing cash around, in order to get them to take the sanctions down, and get contracts flowing, there are a LOT of Congresscritters and Old Skoolio Washington apparatchiks who really want this mess to go away, because it's going to affect their bottom line soonish...

If you'd have asked me a week ago if I thought there was a chance that Trump would get impeached I'd say no because Republicans are never going to dare to not blindly support a Republican president no matter how corrupt or incompetent he may be.

Now it's like Trump is actually going out of his way to alienate the very people he needs to save him from an impeachment. It's like he's daring them to impeach him. You can only kick that loyal dog so many times before it turns on you.

They can't govern.

In fairness, with as many times his properties have  billed the Fed, at this point, he's got to be nearing the number he needed to reach to cover his previous losses. I kind of think that once he gets to positive numbers, and covers the huge hole that he dug for himself, he'll "rage quit" and hand the mess over to someone else--blaming the Fake Media and anyone else that he can name, but all the while breathing a sigh of relief that he had to almost work for the first time in his life, and be glad to be rid of the whole thing, because it's HARD to sneak in hookers into the White House, and Melania and Donnie can get back to ignoring one another for the sake of the kids.

This is stupid even by Trump standards. The Freedom Caucus is another aspect of his base; you'd assume he'd be courting them while he fights with the main line Republicans who never liked him.

Yup. Looks like it's going to be circular sourcing, just like the GOP does.

Trump is bad enough as it is.

The press has to stop making shiat up.

It gets us nowhere.
