Who knew Marshalls were such bad losers?
I mean I knew but that bad? In front of a judge and cameras that work and all.
Make that 7 new employment apps at Blackwater.

Can't the judge set aside the verdict because of the jury's complete ineptitude here?

I mean, the Dildonians CLEARLY had weapons on federal property in direct violation of posted ordinances, and discharged them on the property as well.

HOW THE FARK can they completely overlook that basic fact and find them not guilty?

That there is the planned part of a jury trial. Jurors can decide which side is the worse of evils. Just like that electing thingie.
Ain't America grand?

Looks like JNOV is more a civil court option if the jury completely blows it. Criminal courts only have had one instance in history.

Oh well.  Lucky dildonians get to dildo another day, assuming the next trial goes in their favor, too.

I'd test it, but as a federal employee I'd lose my job.

You're probably looking at a case of jury nullification.

"Suddenly, a group of about six to seven U.S. Marshals, who had been either standing or seated around the perimeter of the courtroom, slowly moved in and surrounded Mumford at his defense table. The judge directed them to move back but moments later, the marshals grabbed onto him "

"He was cited for failure to comply with a federal lawful order."

So did they arrest themselves afterward?

So now we will get round two in Nevada with the Bundy clan, hope they get a better jury there.

One good thing though is for the ones that got off, they are bound to be under the Feds microscope now, so I am sure if they fart in a movie theater they will be in court over it.
I didn't see but did the 3 holdouts get off as well or is theirs a separate case?

2016-10-28 01:24:52 PM
I just read the juror's letter on this.  The way I understand it... they were instructed to disregard the facts of the case, and simply focus on intent?  So, the were innocent of the charges, because they did not plan to disrupt the activities of federal employees... that was simply an unintended consequence of what they did plan to do.  Which, is pretty far fetched... I hope they throw the book at this clown in Nevada.

Yes, it is. And that's not really a bad thing. They're operating under the same delusion these guys were, that they're part of a vast network of like minded Real Americans.

The sooner they find out that's not true, the sooner we can move forward as a nation and a people.

Not to mention a handful of these guys are still in custody for the Nevada standoff.  And that has video and pictures of people aiming rifles at federal officers.  That won't be nearly as easy to hand wave away.

I think a judge can ignore a jury guilty verdict, but not an innocent verdict.

Who the fark paid off this jury?  There is some big money behind this bullshiat SovCit 'take hurr land back!' movement, and a verdict this outlandish is suspect at the very least.

Do we not already have enough people in prison that we need more?

I guess we could build one large 300+ million cell facility and throw everyone in. That way we could save on all the trials.

This is just like the OJ trial.  When I saw the makeup of that jury, I just knew that these people were going to acquit one of their own.  The fact is that these people feel that they are entitled to do whatever they want.  Their culture says that if you don't want to listen to "The Man" that you can just go ahead and and act like a wild savage.  They have enablers and pimps in the media that make excuses for these animals.

I'm sorry if that offends the PC Police, but I'm just telling it like it is.  The sad part is that these thugs are now emboldened to commit more crimes in their own communities and against their own people.  These people will never rise up and overcome until they address the problems in their culture.

Sad!

I don't know enough about what they were charged with, but there are laws that require things like knowledge, intent, and/or reckless disregard for what should be obvious knowledge.

Redneck jury, white privilege ... that's all sour grapes, and butthurt.

You want to blame someone, blame the prosecutors.  as the one juror explained:

"But we were not asked to judge on bullets and hurt feelings, rather to decide if any agreement was made with an illegal object in mind," the Marylhurst student wrote. "It seemed this basic, high standard of proof was lost upon the prosecution throughout."

You fail to prove an element of your case, you lose.  Period.

The soonest they could have found out that's not true was this trial.  Actually it was back during that standoff in Nevada but the next soonest was this trial.  So how can you say it's not a bad thing that they were acquitted if you also believe the sooner they find out that laws apply to them the better?

I'm thinking the prosecution should have found something else to charge them with. "Preventing government officials from doing their jobs" is so beside the point of what they did -- there were threats, there was menacing, there was the armed insurrection. That was really the best charge they could come up with?

And that is the thing. The damage done by letting OJ off is minimal.  It isn't going to encourage anyone else to commit a crime of passion. It isn't likely OJ will commit a second crime of passion where he murders someone.  The Jury can make its statement against the behavior and procedures of the police without causing further harm to the fabric of society.

This one... maybe not so much. I hope I'm wrong.

According to Wahlstrom, Mumford was shocked with a stun gun in what's called a dry-stun mode, meaning no probes were fired into his body but a Taser was placed up against his body.

After being tackled and subdued, one of the Marshals tossed a pair of Taser probes at Mumford and told him, "Next one's coming faster."

According to recent NPR articles, the feds had 15 confidential informants in the refuge alongside the Dildonians, and the confidential informants were the guys that brought all the military-style weapons.  I'm sure that didn't sit well with the jury, when the feds were making such a big deal about the occupiers being armed.  The Bundy crew wore handguns on their hips, but all the militia looking guys were largely feds...which is kinda messed up.
