Unless it's a reboot called "Lethal Weapon: The Series". Wow did that suck.

The series was made by the Higgens character, not Magnum you can't put that genie back in the bottle.

Better a "daughter of" sequel than a gender swap reboot.

ABC has some great shows. Speechless and Designated Survivor last night were great.

I don't think there's a weak link on Wednesday nights. Maybe you could make a case for Modern Family getting old, but that's about it.

Got Designated Survivor on my DVR. Good to know it doesn't suck.

Colin Firth or Hugh Laurie could pull off a version of the character.

Which sister is the lesbian?

Maybe she could be disappointed they didn't gender swap the character.

No, they have not. They have created a new show that bears the same name, but that seems to be as far as the similarities go, it bears no resemblance to the original.

Kind of like the aforementioned Lethal Weapon. I guess you don't want a reboot to be a carbon copy of the original but they got a Wayans Brother to play Murtaugh, FFS. He's supposed to be a by-the-book straight-man, not a wise cracking comedian. Mel Gibson must be rolling in his grave.

James Bond Jr

Bond, James Bond Jr.
No one can stop him but S.C.U.M. always tries
Young Bond cuts through each web of spies
He learned the game from his uncle James
Now he's heir to the name
James Bond (Bond) James Bond Jr.

Look out he's comin' through
He's got a job to do,
While he rescues the girl
James Bond Jr. chases S.C.U.M.

I actually have some hope for Lethal Weapon. The only role I've ever liked Damon in was The Last Boy Scout. Sure, it had some comedic moments, but it was primarily a dramatic role and I've always thought he did well. He's not going to parrot Danny Glover's Murtaugh and he shouldn't, but I think he may have it in him to be more than just a "wise cracking comedian". We'll see, I guess.

I have zero hope for MacGyver, though, none. The only thing I expect from that show is that if I watched it, I would feel a great urge to throat punch someone.

I know this is going to sound harsh, but it needs to be said. I didn't have any interest in the Ghostbusters reboot, the previews made it seem like the kind of comedy I don't like. Some people on this very site accused me of misogyny for expressing my opinion, but I didn't complain about it, nor did I try to convince them otherwise. Their opinion of me holds no weight because I am secure in my understanding of myself. It doesn't bother me any more than if someone called me gay. I am secure enough in my sexuality that some asshole's opinion is going to generate self doubt or inflict me in any way.

What I'm getting at is that to complain about people calling you names that don't apply to you demonstrates a lack of strength and security in your self. It's a greater sign of weakness to complain about it before they even start.

/tl:dr who gives a fark what people say if it doesn't apply to you?
//the key, though, is recognizing when someone points something out in you that you didn't know was there

Besides not being able to stand Melissa McCarthy, I had a pretty open mind about it. I knew there was never going to be be another movie with the original cast and so what the hell. But those trailers were pretty Godawful. I got dragged to it anyway and it was as bad as the trailers promised. It was genuinely bad, no misogyny necessary.

As much as I enjoy them, there's only so much you can do with a mopey character like the one that Selleck portrays.

If you ever read the Spenser novels the character had that same level of brooding to him.  When they did the series the character was portrayed as significantly more upbeat and animated although the core elements of the personality were still there.

The trailers left me ambivalent. You know what made me decide to not see it? The Progressive Insurance commercial tie-in (with Flo as the ghost). At the moment I saw that, a "nope" switch flipped on inside me. My choice was then vindicated when all of the noise came out about fanboys who wanted people to boycott the new movie, and the obligatory retaliatory accusations of sexism and misogyny came flying out. The Progressive commercial made me decide I didn't want to see it, and the press coverage leading up to the premiere made me SURE I didn't want to see it. I don't regret missing it, and I have no plans to watch it when it comes out in other venues.

I loved the cop in the car who turned off the siren.
"Not her. Life is too short."

And then later he turns it off again.
"No. See that license plate (SHE NUTZ)? That's not a vanity plate. Lady at the DMV just gave it to her."

That was a funny pilot. I love the kid with cerebral palsy, JJ. You can already tell that he's the only sane and stable one in the family. His condition doesn't make him a pitiful character. It makes him likable. And I love that ABC makes these family sitcoms about families that actually exist. Shows like Modern Family and Blackish didn't really exist in the mainstream before. The subject matter is more complex now, and that's a good thing. They're humanizing characters that used to merely be trivial plot points.

I can't wait for The Real O'Neals to come back. I've liked Martha Plimpton since I was a kid and Goonies came out.

I think Castle was a PI for a season or so.But the cop procedural shows have been pretty harsh on PIs in multiple episodes across multiple series.
