The Kremlin's work is done, so he's no longer needed on the campaign.

Good job Trump, picking "the best" people to surround yourself with.

So will Katrina Bullety necklace finally admit threre's a shake-up?  She was all like "no one's leaving, we're adding people"

They dumped him on a Friday morning, which if they couldn't wait until the end of the day to throw it out as part of the weekend news dump, the Trump campaign is even more incompetent than we thought, or something really, really bad was about to come out about Manafort.

Ukraine just accused Manafort of arranging a staged riot against U.S. Marines training with Ukrainian commandos as part of an international exercise.  Not sure if that's it, but this looks bad.

Removing Manafort's toxicity from the Trump campaign won't wash the stink off, though.  He can't even hire the best people for a campaign, much less a fully functioning government. Sad!

IT'S NOT A SHAKE UP GUYS EVERYTHING IS JUST AS IT WAS WE'RE JUST EXPANING OUR TEAM MOVE ALONG NOT A SHAKE UP

So while Manafort was clearly a bad guy wasn't he like the only sane political operative he had?

Things are bad when your sole professional is also one of the most toxic people possible.

This is just a page from the Corporate Restructuring Playbook. Demote / shuffle the leadership, bring in someone new to take on the prior person's job, say the prior resource is going to focus on "Strategic Projects to support the company", and then the prior person leaves, citing a desire to move somewhere to be closer to family / head a charity / etc.

I wonder if Mr. Manafort will soon be found, smelling of polonium, lying in an elevator shaft, having fallen on several bullets with the back of his head.

I haven't been counting, how many campaign managers has this been since he became the presumptive nominee?

I guess they were pretty confident Manafort would be quickly cleared of all accusations that he was on the take from the Russian government...

Yeah, maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

I don't think they fired him at all. I think he quit. He doesn't want to be second banana on the sinking Tumptanic. Although incompetence surely plays a part.

spcMike: Trump is still being advised by the former head of the DIA who's buddy buddy with Putin, right?

His main advisor is his daughter and her husband, both of whom are being puppeteered by Wendi Deng - who introduced them - who is the girlfriend of Putin, and likely a Chinese agent.

So it's up in the air if he's actually being puppeteered by China or Russia. Maybe they have a string each.

2016-08-19 10:40:50 AM
So can we call it a shakeup now? Because even the thin excuse that no one left the campaign has now evaporated.

Following this minute-by-minute this morning, it appears that Manafort told a "close friend" that he was resigning, and this friend told Robert Costa of the Washington Post this morning.  He tweeted it out as a scoop, and it looks like the Trump campaign was forced to send out a brief and rushed statement thanking Manafort for his time with the campaign.

Try to imagine the 24/7 shiatstorm that would have erupted if any of Mrs. Clinton's advisors were found to have 1/100th the amount of russian connections this douchebag does.

Two birds with one stone if those bullets were from having Pierson's head shoved up his ass.

Side topic, but who here remembers sniglets. Former SNL alum Rich Hall coined the term for words that don't exist yet but should be created to add to the dictionary.

Katritonia: (noun) the brief fugue state a professional reporter slips into as their brain attempts to respond to the sheer stupidity of a Trump apologist.

He totally left on his own, voluntarily.  It was his choice, and not in any way due to any kind of shake up. There was no shaking except of hands, which are very large by the way.

Wasn't Manafort the guy of Trump's daughter and son-in-law?  Who maneuvered Lewandowski out to get their guy in place?  And now their guy is out again?

Seriously, I've lost track of who is aligned with who and going where in that campaign.  But as long as they keep circling the drain there's no risk of them moving forward...
