I guess given how news coverage of his speeches so often resembles infomercials, that seems relatively unsurprising.

Strange?

This ain't even new. Have people missed the  fact that PACs now run most of the ads?

While I ALWAYS grab the remote and change the channel when a political commercial comes on, I do know I saw part of one for Donald Trump. I also caught the end to see that it was paid for by the NRA.

I wonder if the NRA is like a union, and I can get back my part of the dues they are using for these commercials?

Lando Lincoln: January of 2016 was his first

Came here to say this.

And to be fair, some folks probably attribute the one by the NRA as being his. I'm not sure if that's still only running in swing states.

2016-07-13 01:31:27 PM
Haha, people sure are stupid, right subby? Well, except for fact that Trump has run an ad and that there have been other ads run in his name, which to most folks is not significantly different.

Doesn't seem line that big of a leap to consider a super PACs anti-Hillary ad as a "Trump campaign ad ".

I saw one that was not so much a Trump commercial but an anti-Hillary commercial. Fellow saying he was not voting Hillary because he was at Benghazi.

All of the Democrats and Independents up here are running ads about how they will stand strong on Trump's and the Right's assault on our rights.  I'm really sick of that bald, orange, goat semen guzzling bastard.

2016-07-13 01:39:02 PM
I live in Florida, and every commercial break there is an ad from the Clinton Campaign about how great she is, and an add from a PAC saying how bad Trump is.

"I'm Donald Trump, and I'm looking into approving this message. I'm looking into many things."

That's the NRA one.  Pretty much the only ad airing on Trump's side right now.

This reminds me of when Obama was in the middle of his campaign.
People were asked things like, "should we be using America's military to hunt down Obama?"
"Oh, HELL YEAH!!!"

That's more of a PAC ad than a candidate ad now a days.

Also why run ads when the media reports on your every word.

One of the most glorious parts of no cable TV is that I haven't seen a TV ad in 7 years, except at my parents' house.  My kids, 5 and 7, have never known them.

Election season, its an even bigger deal.

The number I'm really curious about is the $51 million he claims he raised last month.

He has not accompanied that number with an FEC report proving it. He just SAYS he raised that much.

It is entirely possible Trump is trying to fundraise by way of just lying, saying he's raising money now and hoping it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy before the FEC report comes out and the jig is up. Nobody can prove his numbers are wrong until the FEC numbers come out most of the way through the month and by then he'll already have done most of the next month's fundraising.

The point of the articles about this is how little Trump has spent, but people think his ads are all over the place; while Hillary Clinton is spending like a Democratic Jeb Bush and getting nowhere near the same viewer impression Trump is.

We'll know on Friday.

I'm especially keen to see if he actually forgave this $45 million in loans.

I haven't seen a single Trump ad.

Or Hillary ad.

Or any political ad at all.

But only because I've given up TV for a while.

And between Adblockers, No Script, and Ghostery, I haven't seen many ads online either.

I don't even watch the videos in TFAs on Fark anymore.

Lando Lincoln: The June numbers will be posted next week, in the middle of the GOP nomination convention. Should be good times.

They really should be, because the thing about FEC reports is, the better they are for you, the sooner candidates get them out there, and Clinton released hers a long time ago. If you're putting it off until the deadline, it's a bad report. And Trump, regardless of his claims, hasn't put out the report backing up his $51 million claim. Which leads me to believe he's full of shiat and he's just trying to ACT like he raised a bunch of money and hoping the media doesn't call him on it when the real numbers come out.

Yeah, I know this is a "see how dumb people are" article, but in that way it falls flat.  Are people supposed to care that the ads they saw weren't paid for by Trump?  Why would they care?
