Is it an optical illusion if you see it right away? This has to be the lowest bar for any optical illusion ever. It's not dress-level, I'll tell you that.

That is a great example of how your brain hates your eyes.

The ash was a rock to me and my brain didn't want it to be anything else coontil the cigar was suggested.

The real question is: what "artist" took this photo in the first place thinking this was something worth photographing? 'Cause it's certainly no optical illusion. Saw it before I even saw that there bricks around it.

When some people look at it (including me) it first looks like the body of the cigar is part of the space between the bricks and the end is a rock stuck in the wall.

It took me a few seconds to realize what I was looking at, and I can easily switch back and forth between the two images. It's somewhat near but not all that special. Even before I initially saw the cigar, I thought that space was oddly straight.

It's ok, somebody posted it. Funny, I saw the ash and thought it had something to do with that, but I had to read "the answer" before I was able to see the whole thing.
