FTFA: Gerald DeLemus, of Rochester, who was arrested last week, is accused of being "mid-level leader" and organizer of a conspiracy to recruit, organize, train and provide support to armed men and other followers of rancher Cliven Bundy.

Yeah, fark that guy. He thought he was going to get a mulligan after an armed stand-off with federal agents. There is no violin tiny enough to express my emotions at this time.

At this point I think Trump is just in it for the lulz.  He doesn't want to be president.  For one thing, it doesn't pay enough.  Nor does he want a bunch of plebs (Congress) stonewalling him.  If this were a dictatorship, I could see him being serious about it.  But he's just having a laugh.

It's weird that there's any question whether or not people who declare the Federal government illegitimate and explicitly declare it has no authority over them would bother to show up for their appointed court date in a Federal court to face Federal charges.

These folks belive that the federal government and the constitution has been hijacked and THEY ALONE hold the key. That all they have to do is say some magic legal words and then they will be untouchable.

"Trying to steal"? Comrade, that is merely a reallocation of government assets.  If they paid the proper taxes it would have been fine.

Obviously the article is bout him being denied bail, even if it doesn't specifically say the word bail.
And he is a member of the Trump campaign even if the article doesn't say so.

Well, quite often you'll see headlines referencing previous popular news stories, assuming that most people are aware of them. This guy was the subject of much Fark ridicule when people learned after his arrest that he was a Trump campaign official.

Mr Trump selected Mr. DeLemus as a co-chair of "Veterans for Trump".  He is running for the office of sheriff in Stafford County, New Hampshire and his wife is state representative in that state.  He is seeking to be released on bail while the federal charges wind through the courts, since he's been out since the Bunkerville, NV BLM standoff - but he was also observed at the Malheur Wildlife Refuge during that standoff with federal authorities.

"The Obama Administration and Federal Government is so out of touch with our military veterans and traditional American values they're recklessly targeting the voices of veterans. The blanket charge of "Conspiracy to commit an offense against the USA will become the front line argument to defend all other charges. To issue that charge requires a definition of "USA". Who or what is the USA? We The People, not the federal government, is the answer.  The lawlessness of the BLM and FBI under this administration's DOJ today with these arrest has reached a Benghazi level of alertness."

Trump doesn't want to be president.

He wants to be elected.

Actually serving as president would be a lot of hard work (Trump doesn't seem to like actual work), instead of just having his money (starting with his dad's money) do the work for him. He couldn't have total control over everything around him like he does now; he may think he's running for autocrat, but laws and traditions say otherwise. And his approval ratings are going to suck -- the people opposed to him now are not likely to change their minds, and the people supporting him now are going to turn on him when he doesn't actually deliver all that and a pony like he's promised. A perhaps more telling thing is that he does not have any real policies, ideas, etc. He doesn't want to become president because there are certain policies he wants to enact; he has proposed some things because he thinks they'll get him elected.

And that's what he wants: to be elected. It's the ultimate line on his resume, the ultimate notch on his gun. "I was elected President of the United States." There are plenty of richer people who can buy bigger yachts and more ostentatious houses. There have only been 43 men ever elected president (remember, Grover Cleveland gets counted twice) -- only 12 in Trump's lifetime. That's a pretty elite group to get into, and it's one that the people he sees as his rivals can't join. Jack Ma may be able to buy and sell Donald Trump out of petty cash, but he can't be elected President; Trump can. But, again, the election is all that matters. He doesn't want to actually be president; that would be work.

And whether you agree with Trump or not, that right there is a reason not to vote for him. In fact, if you support him, it's probably a bigger reason not to vote for him than if you don't. If you disagree with his proposals, such as they are, it's less worrisome because you can be fairly sure he's not going to actually do these things. (forcing China to do something about North Korea, really?) But if you think he is going to do things you want, it should matter that he's not, and he has no intention of it, because once he's got that election win he wants and doesn't need you anymore, then, like the investors who lost everything in his corporate bankruptcies, you can go hang.

"Jerry DeLemus posed for a photo near the Bundy ranch in Nevada in 2014 amid a standoff with federal agents. He was in U.S. District Court in Concord on Thursday to be arraigned on a raft of federal charges related to the standoff. "

"Although Jerry DeLemus, a 61-year-old retired Marine, said he made the visit on his own rather than as a representative of Trump's campaign, he is the only member of a presidential campaign to have openly visited the occupation of the Malheur Wildlife Refuge since it began on Jan. 2."

"In an interview on Tuesday, DeLemus told Reuters that while he was skeptical of the occupation at first, he now thinks the group is enjoying "great success" in resisting the "thug-like, terroristic" actions of the federal government by claiming the land for local citizens."

" "It's my intention to ensure that he has the whole story," DeLemus said of Trump. "I think it'll really arouse him, and once he understands, I wouldn't be surprised to see him heading out West.""

"Three weeks ago, Jerry DeLemus grabbed his Gadsden flag and raced to Bunkerville, Nevada to support the cattle rancher in his confrontation with federal officials. When he arrived, the former Marine sergeant was appointed commander of the growing armed militia and was featured in numerous news reports and videos."

"Soon afterwards, Bundy was filmed holding forth on "the Negro" and suggesting blacks might be "better off as slaves." The conservative commentators and politicians who had rushed to support him were soon in full retreat. DeLemus, however, defended Bundy. "There's not a racist bone in his body," he told the Nashua Telegraph. Bundy was trying to make a point about welfare, he said, and how "it's decimated the black family.""

"A few weeks ago, Delemus' wife Susan, a former state House Representative best known for her birther antics, posted a brief Facebook message: "Jerry DeLemus for Sheriff of Strafford County, NH." "
