FTA:  "It's difficult to understand the presumption of innocence when I've spent the last month in a jail cell and led around in chains wherever I go,'' Payne said.

After leading two armed standoffs against law enforcement in less than two years, perhaps the judge senses a trend, a precedent if you will, that bail would be opportunity for yet a third armed siege by these same defendants against law enforcement for the purpose of stalling the trial.

Not a one of these assholes ever had a problem with pretrial detention of defendants until it happened them--under circumstances where pretrial detention is lopsidedly justified.

Hypocrites and sociopaths all. Human filth.

And the "human" part is debatable.

A lot of people don't understand the presumption of innocence.  It applies to jury instructions and rules of evidence.  It doesn't mean that you can't be arrested and detained before trial.  It doesn't mean the public at large has to grant you the presumption of innocence.   It doesn't mean that your employer can't fire you.

It's difficult to understand the presumption of innocence

I imagine the set of things they find difficult to understand contains a great deal more than just the presumption of innocence

They'll need it. Their standards have changed. During the occupation they were routinely receiving packages of absolute top-notch dildos. Top of the line merchandise. Now all they have are shoddy prison-issue dildos made of poor quality material and covered with arrows.

This is obviously false imprisonment since the federal government isn't in the Constitution.

Why waste all that batter? Just twist a dildo into a circle and paint it with a thin layer of cake batter. You'll be able to get dozens of dildo-cakes out of one box of cake mix.

Offhand, my girlfriend is friends with a confectioner in San Diego who made an amazing birthday cake one year. It was a giant penis, with rainbow batter and jet-black icing, and was made to "perform" by means of medical tubing and a bicycle pump filled with yogurt.

Of those, Kenneth Medenbach said he wished to represent himself and was not ready to issue a plea yet, but the judge entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Oh, this is going to be good

After the judge explained their rights to a trial and their presumption of innocence, several of the defendants directly challenged her assertions.

Piss off the judge - it's an interesting strategy, let's see how that plays out

Co-defendant Jason Patrick, when asked if he understood his constitutional rights, replied, "I understand I have no rights at all. You're the federal government. You're going to do whatever you want.''

Pure gold!!  This is going to be some really entertaining stuff for months to come.

Last Man on Earth: So you're saying they'd describe themselves as "people of the land?"

These kinds of people.... whatever they call themselves champions of, they always seem to be the worst examples of.
People of the land? They'll ruin it with overgrazing, overfarming, overmining and then hope God (or demand that the government) fixes the arsenic-laced topsoil blowing away in the wind.
God fearing? They'll pick all the worst parts of the Bible to justify hate, try to enact that into law, and then say that social programs go against Jesus's directive to help the poor.
And this lady, 10 kids in Kansas? She's either soaking us for farm subsidies or a welfare check. Whatever the fark.

2016-02-25 09:32:44 AM
Presumption of innocence doesn't mean that everyone has to believe that you are innocent or treat you as if you are being wrongfully charged with a crime.

It means that for the court to sentence you for a crime, the prosecution has to prove that you did it. You don't have to prove that you didn't do it.

That's it.

Just like the mandatory sentencing laws.  It's hard to say whether they supported them in the past, but I'm fairly certain they thought the laws would never apply to god-fearin' white folk.

Given the judge's attitude towards a speedy process, this will probably result in some harsh contempt charges that will delay this particular fellow's life by a few weeks to a month.  Also, it's amazing the entitlement these chucklefarks have regarding their own freedoms while they were more than willing to end and/or ruin lives due to their own imagined little world.

I look forward to these dipshiats being locked up as quickly as possible, for as long as possible, then only being remembered for being halfwit dildo receptacles who couldn't remember to pack a lunch.

Take that bimbo's kids away from her too.  I'm sure if they looked hard enough they could find a valid reason or three.

What I don't get about these bible thumpers and that snake flag is doesn't the snake represent Satan? Didn't he rebel against God and tempt Eve into rebelling against the lawful authority of God? And doesn't the bible say to follow the leader of your country because they have authority from God?

FTA:  "Co-defendant Jason Patrick, when asked if he understood his constitutional rights, replied, "I understand I have no rights at all."

Interesting claim.  In fact, he has at minimum the right to:

• Miranda warning during arrest.
• Taxpayer-funded attorney if indigent.
• Phone calls and letters during incarceration.
• Food, clothing and medical care during incarceration.
• Commissary account funded by friends and family during incarceration.
• Visitation by counsel, family and friends during incarceration.
• Access to state's evidence against you prior to trial.
• Appeal after appeal after appeal if convicted.

Maybe he just misses those free steak dinners he enjoyed during the armed takeover:

There is a legitimate argument to be made that in certain cases the government errs to the side of caution in a way that creates an unfair bias against the defendant: having someone accused of a violent crime arrive in court in chains even if they haven't established they have resisted or attempted an act of violence against themselves or others is an example of that.

These chucklefarks? Not so much.
