I heard the song in the background the other day and I turned to look at my tv and saw Dylan and the angel prancing around and I did a double-take. Dylan is like my idol and I was kinda weirded out by him being in a Victoria's Secret commercial. Over all though the commercial's alright i guess, and to the headline writer, yes back in the day Dylan was sexy.

You don't have to be a neoHippy. You can just be a hippy that still hasn't OD'ed yet.

I like him, but I understand that there are people out there who don't like him at all. That is why I ain't going to say anything.
2004-04-06 12:48:54 AM
i saw the commercial....not enough of the scantly clad woman...too much ugly bob dylan...
2004-04-06 12:50:19 AM
Dylan seems to like to screw with people's perception of him. I bet that's where this comes from.
2004-04-06 12:50:22 AM
Why is Dylan always so pissed-off looking?

Anyway... once back in college I was riding my bike home near Northeastern U. and some older, tall chick in a cowboy hat and a leather catsuit asked me where such-and-such an auditorium was... I had no idea. But what struck me as odd was her male companion who was in a sweat jacket with some scruffy hair and a long pointy nose sticking out obviously trying not remain inconspicuous.

Didn't think much about it till I got home and my roommates mentioned Bob Dylan was playing at Northeastern U. that night and ever since then I've been convinced that was Bob Dylan I didn't give directions too...

Oh well... not very interesting I guess... but, hey, my wife smoked pot with Milla Jovovich once in her own living room... ow, my foot is asleep... damn Day Light Savings Time! curses!

2004-04-06 12:52:20 AM
I think they're going for the contrast.

Ugly Bob >> Pretty Lima
Ugly Bob >> Pretty Lima
Ugly Bob >> Pretty Lima

I saw the commercial tonight actually. Adrianna made the commercial nice. Bob did not.

Nothing says anything like Bob Dylan, except maybe a frog with marbles in its mouth.

How does it feel to hit it?

How long before some neoHippy shows up to tell us how profound Dillon was, man!

OK I'll be the neohippie. Dylan was profound lyrically. Tragically though his voice was for shiate.

I went to a Bob Dylan concert a couple weeks ago. It was ok. The Eagle Ballroom in Milwaukee sucks balls. But yeah, I have a copy of every Dylan album, '68 - '01. That includes compilations and live albums. His gospel phase he went through in the 80's really sucked, but other than that, he's just the greatest ever. Just don't bother going to see him at the Eagle Ballroom.

Now, I don't care just what you do,
If you wanta have a picnic, that's up to you.
But don't tell me about it, I don't want to hear it,
'Cause, see, I just lost all my picnic spirit.
I'll stay in my kitchen...
And have a picnic in my bathroom.
2004-04-06 01:09:12 AM
I'm a hippie without a close bold tag. :)
2004-04-06 01:10:41 AM
xglitchx beat me to it.
2004-04-06 01:12:22 AM
CarlofET: How come you don't have anything before '68? That's a lot, in fact probably most, of the best stuff.

Single dads are HOT!
2004-04-06 01:14:17 AM
Whoopsie. I meant '62-'01. Yeah, those first few years are essential to a good music collection.

I think of Bob Dylan as a slightly, paler, older Gene Simmons with an acoustic.
2004-04-06 01:15:17 AM
Bob Dylan...huhhh huhhh huhhh (dry heaving)
2004-04-06 01:16:17 AM
Greatest American songwriters: Stephen Foster, George and Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Johnny Mercer, Hoagy Carmichael, Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, and Randy Newman.

or sorry, sharkroy. My deepest apologies.

I find it funny when people talk about things they don't know anything about. Don't take it so hard.
2004-04-06 01:17:19 AM
there was a time when Bob Dylans music spoke to me but then so did my ex-wife.
2004-04-06 01:17:47 AM
If you haven't smoked a joint and put Blonde on Blonde on stereo you haven't lived.

"I'm pledging me time... to you, hoping you'll come through, too"
2004-04-06 01:18:13 AM
Sharkroy, judging by your profile I'd have to give you even more room that usual. Sheesh, try to brush up on your sarcasm skills. They're seriously lacking.
