I wish some federal official would snap some selfies while hauling away some Bundy cattle. A few more while bbqing some prime rib for him and his coworkers.

keylock71: powhound: And I think that may be partially the reason the feds aren't overly concerned yet.

At first I was a bit confused by the lack of action on the part of the Fed, but now, it seems like the right way to play it... Just let these morons dig their own hole by destroying public property and land and let them show the nation what a bunch of unhinged morons they really are.

They're no under siege. They're not being oppressed. They're not brave patriots standing up to government tyranny.

They're morons who went winter camping and didn't prepare for it.

The Fed basically undercut Bundy's entire bullshiat narrative he was trying to craft, and everyday we get more insight into how deranged and dumb these folks really are.

Then the feds should restate that they aren't going to go attack anybody over whatever charges they're considering against these guys and that they can wait as long as it takes. Give a clear message that they will never get the fight they want. There's gotta be some kind of incentive to leave, before they do something farked up like changing the oil in their trucks and dumping it into the waterways.

I think you're looking for 'Malheureux' (unhappy, miserable).

No, I'm going for pseudofrench neologism specific to these people.

Doggiewoggie: Just because you're a rancher doesn't mean you're owed acreage, sponge.

Oh, you don't even have to be a rancher. Just put on a cowboy hat, drive a pickup, and whine about how the country you used to know is gone, and it's time we did something about it, while gazing out over "your" land.

I'm surrounded by those farkers.

serpent_sky: powhound: And I think that may be partially the reason the feds aren't overly concerned yet. I can picture them sipping coffee, eating donuts and reading Fark threads while smirking at the response by the general public. If this thing is still dragging on when the weather starts to warm they will be forced into using more proactive measures, but until then, why bother?

I'm somewhat wondering if they go nuts from the lack of reaction/constant mockery and do something stupid.  We're not talking about people who are particularly intelligent, or even went into this with an actual plan.

And to be fair, I thought about that while I was typing. One gunshot from Camp Freedumber and everything changes.

The petition mentioned in the article:

I'm almost tempted to sign an internet petition. That at least would be more action than law enforcement has taken.

Polish Hussar: Whining Path is one of my personal favorites.  I can't resist a good historical reference.

Ha! So when they finally give up (or everyone gets tired of their crap) and they are arrested as they leave, can we call it the Trail of Jeers? Yes, this is Oregon, not Oklahoma, and might be a bit offensive to native tribes, but I can't think of a good Oregon Trail parody/mockery.

Sad thing is, the invasive plants that started this whole thing are still there.   Those guys that were labelled arsonists were trying to get rid of Eurasian Perennial Pepperweed - an invasive species that has no enemies in N. America.   http://invasive.org/weedcd/species/5931.htm

Oregon 'environmentalists' were apparently sitting on their hands just watching the stuff grow & spread - and they knew there was a problem 10+ years ago.

Right. Because invasive weeds never grow back faster after a fire than the native flora they're displacing. How foolish we were that these water-thieving, child-abusing, poaching, serial arsonists were secret genius environmentalists.

It is in reference to the Shining Path, which is a Peruvian Communist Guerrilla faction that operated from the 1960s until about 5 years ago.  Pretty sure they never operated in Oklahoma.

Yeah, I was just trying to take the funny in a slightly different direction. It was amusing to me before lunch and a refuel of coffee. Now, meh. Ah well, we all have rubbish posts some days. :D

Sounds just like the domestic version of Obama's ISIS policy

Yeah, its Friday.  I know I am looking to get a bit of fresh air this weekend.  Bit distracted myself.
