(pioneerplanet.com)   Santa kicked out of preschool, might offend toddlers. Someone's getting a truck load of coal this year.   (pioneerplanet.com) divider line

what's wrong with offending people? what's wrong with these people??? I see case after case of this asinine PC multicultural crap and it doesn't end. Stop the Insanity!

that's so pathetic. the guy just wants to make some little kids happy, and the touchy-feely PC police shut him out..

How the hell do you offend a toddler?

2001-12-24 2:26:11 PM
I thought we were heading toward a society where everyone did their own thing and didn't keep others from doing the same. Now we are heading toward a society where you can't do anything... at all. "You can't go outside your house. Someone may see you and be offended."

Or am I taking this way out of context? I got bored halfway through the article.

Even better question, Bisifiniti. I didn't know toddlers ever got offended. Scared, yes. But not offended.

2001-12-24 2:32:15 PM
I get offended every time I see a house without lights on it. They're purposefully trying to impose their anti-Christmas ethics on others. I say we pass a new law forcing home-owners to decorate their houses.

For example, Sloppy Joes served at family events are no longer made with pork.

WTF? Would eating beef Sloppy Joes offend people from India? If it was chicken would it offend vegitarians and Vegans?

Ahh, it sure is great to live in a place that's about 99.9% Christian. Santa at my preschool was no problem, especially when we all still believed that his sleigh was parked on the preschool roof.

Put it this way guys: If a guy dressed up in a Muhammed outfit came to a school, I know you guys would be flipping out.

And Bisifiniti, you don't offend the toddler, you offend the parents.

Has noone realized that Santa Claus is a SECULAR ICON????? If the guy came in dressed up a Jesus complete with crucifix and stigmata, then I might be a offended, but it's Santa. This is like saying you can't dress up as Uncle Sam on the 4th of July. Jeez, I'm a Muslim, and I celebrate Xmas, I've sat on Santa's lap, and this year my Xmas present is going to be my wife dressed as Santa's little helper.... okay, maybe that's giving you too much of an insight into my personal life.

Stile4aly: More like a secular IDOL. Kids worship him. Parents enforce belief of Santa on the kids, playing on the fact that they want toys--you behave or no toys. It's one thing to say "Let's pretend Santa _____." It's quite another to flat-out lie and insist that he exists when he doesn't.

ANYONE who thinks santa and jesus have anything to do with each other are total morons.

If enough people think so, then I am starting a new religion where we worship a cruxified santa. He was nailed on the cross by some PC scum. It will be easy to recognise the chapel of my santa church. It will be the ONLY ONE with the glowing reindeer on the roof. MORONS!!!!!!

What I can't understand is why people believe they have the right to dictate exactly where religious icons, things related to religion, things somewhat related to religious holidays, and things kinda similar to fruitcake served a week after a religious holiday are and are not allowed.

As long as you aren't emotionally unstable and about to snap at the slightest touch (in which case you shouldn't even be in public) you should be able to handle a different religious figure talking to your kids.

For the love of presents, Santa wasn't handing them tracts and telling them about Christ, he was giving them toys. He's a big red fat guy in a suit that gives toys to kids.

I'm Christian, and if some big giant Mohammed walked down the street on stilts giving out presents (and assuming they aren't mind-controlling devices or C4 or something), I'd take them, and thank him heartily.

I work part time as a security guard at one of those head-starts. Santa or not, those kids get hooked-up. Companys like Pac-bell and Cox were donating bikes and other gifts.

""We are sensitive to the fact that some activities are more appropriate than others considering the various cultures we serve and the young age of the children. That doesn't preclude Santa Claus, and it doesn't necessary mean Santa will be there."

See this is what is WRONG with Todays Freaky Uber-Liberal Socity! They Love to Celebrate Other People's Cultures, Hell they Encourage it! But when it comes to their culture or a large culture the SHUN it becuase majoritys are tirants and minorities are neat and rebelous! I HATE THE WORLD WE LIVE IN! You have to right not to be discrimnated but you dont have the right not to be offended.

That's a rather cynical view, Lady Alexa. Yes, parents tell there children that there is a Santa Claus, but I don't think that many lord it over their kids as a tactic to keep them in line (at least not before December 15). If kids are bad, they get punished, but parents are not the Sheriff of Nottingham (Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans, no more merciful beheadings, and call off Christmas). I chose the word icon purposely, Santa is not worshipped, he is accepted by the population at large (over 10 years old anyways) as a fictional character, but I think most of us have Santa as a way to hearken back to a more innocent time, and blieve somewhere deep down that there is a Santa Claus, even if just for one day in December.

I'd like to thank the Academy....

"Each family's cultures and traditions may or may not include the celebration of all scheduled holidays."

"So this year teaching staff, parents and volunteers will give out the donated gifts and Santa won't visit any of the sites."

the damn gifts are more tied to Christian tradition than santa. does that mean the kids of different cultures don't get gifts. damn again, more blatent discrimination.

fark. I wish I had a truck load of coal.

Talk about low heating expenses for the rest of the season.

Is very simple, just pull ur kid out because you felt that they were discriminating against your holiday traditions. I am very sure if a dozen parents pulld their kids out they'd have a santa next year. They are not worried about offending anyone, they are worried about getting sued..plain and simple.

Just tell them it's a Rabbi with an awful fashion sense.

Although I guess it'd be mentally and karmically healthy to remember to hate the ultra-PC-let's-spend-our-days-finding-things-to-be-offeneded-by and not the people they are trying to "defend".
