Justice crust, Scientists! We already have bird-eating spiders. Do you want them to start bringing down planes too?

Guns may be useless against them, but fire still works!

Spiders which fly might do just that, if they're floating under Kevlar webs. Might take a volcano-equivalent number of them, but there's a SyFy movie level of risk in it.

Hollow point bullets are more susceptible to being stopped by kevlar than FMJ bullets, because they are designed to expand.  That spreads their energy out over a wider surface area.

What they flies should be stocking up on are solid bullets of hard brass or other like material with really sharp pointy tips, because that's the kind of bullet more likely to penetrate kevlar cloth.

You know... I wouldn't rule it out.

Not the breeding, but trying the same trick of trying to introduce nanotubes into the fiber.

Isn't Kevlar significantly weaker than spider silk?

No Frankenclothes for me neither!

They put spiders in spiders, therefore I'm not wearing any spiders, thank you very much.

Umm... no. Thermite would destroy the barrel of any readily available shotgun. That's a "Dragon's Breath" load, which typically means it contains Titanium Sponge. Ever shoot off a "Fountain" style firework? The big ones typically use titanium sponge to create the fountain effect.
