Tom Brady likes his headline a certain way.  When he submits they are perfect.  What happens after that is none of his affair.  He just plays with them.

They almost made it to the NFC championship game, which is better than 13 other teams in the NFC.

I half-watched it while catching up with my newspapers. I was amused when the crowd booed after a running back jogged into two defenders who gave him a soft hug. But they seemed to turn it up a bit in the second half. Except for that time when one team had to engineer a fourth-quarter, game-winning drive, with a roster full of Pro Bowl QBs, and turned to... Andy Dalton.

2015-01-26 9:51:48 AM
Even as a Pats fan, that's sone comedy gold right there. Well done, subby.

No but I was annoyed I wasn't allowed to watch the Pro Bowl thanks to ESPN and Disney being money-grubbing assholes. This year the Pro Bowl, next year the Super Bowl.

And if the Patriots play in the Super Bowl this year, then fark the Super Bowl.

2015-01-26 10:16:23 AM
The Rams play in the antiquated Edward Jones Dome, but can move in March 2015 and are considered a likely candidate to be one of two NFL teams headed to Los Angeles.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but this is the first I've heard of two teams moving to LA. Who's the other one?

You should boycott the NFL and everything related to it, from tv broadcasts to fark threads, until the NE franchise is disbanded.

Why?

The NFL hasn't said the Pats did anything wrong, hell, they have said very little.

HeadSmart Labs, based in Pittsburgh and being staffed with Professors and Students from Carnegie Mellon University have done experiments showing that Belichick and the Pat's explanation are plausible...(In their tests, balls going form 75 degrees to 50 lose on average 1.8 PSI)

I know you want to hate them, but until there is some evidence that the Pats cheated, why don't you just chill out.

Why? The most likely outcome to anyone who has been paying attention is and has always been a Seattle win. The recent events just enhance the entertainment value of this outcome.

A NE win might also have some added entertainment value if you want to see Goodell uncomfortable, although I think this would only have maximum effect if it's a NE blowout, which is very unlikely.

Watch it--according to a guy in another thread, that experiment didn't mention a negative control in their short website video synopsis of the test, which definitely means they never did a negative control so the experiment is bunk. Even though a any outcome of the negative control would help the Patriots' case anyway.

Who are you going to believe?
A bunch of eggheads doing experiments or the collective wisdom of a million angry voices?
I'm going with the more entertaining choice and encouraging everybody to go full angry mob until something funnier comes along.

We only prosecute counterfeiters who produce really good bills.

The ones who aren't successful at counterfeiting we don't prosecute. We just let them keep counterfeiting until they get real good at it.

Of course, when they get real good at counterfeiting, we like to let them circulate their bills for a while so they can make some money at their craft.

"I believe they're going to do that (the NFL interview him about Deflategate) after the season, so we'll deal with it after this game (the Super Bowl)," Tom Brady said.

I love this story! just when I think it can't get any funnier it does!

What exactly would a "negative control" consist of in this experiment?
and if you could start your answer with "here comes the science" I would appreciate that.
this thread is all I have to cheer me up on a rough monday morning.

That's nice. Just so you know, the value of the improvements paid for by the taxpayers goes into the owners pockets. Doesn't that make you feel good?

xaks: The first WTF moment for me was looking at the list and seeing the Texans at #5.

Maybe for a second or two until you see that their operating income is among the best in the league (assuming that Forbes' numbers are to be believed). They are, after all, one of two NFL teams in a football crazy state and by all accounts Bob McNair has been running a high quality organization.

Oh I am. I'm not Bill Nye. I don't let my Patriots fandom interfere with my logic. I mean, if you really were trying to tear this study down, I would stick to the fact that the grad student who founded Headsmart is from Boston. So there is clear bias. HOWEVER, unless you show me that the bias affected the results, I have no issue accepting them.

I would also suggest looking at the economic growth of the Houston itself over the last decade or so.

It was a close game that came down to the wire. That's about all I could expect from a Pro Bowl.
