I was thinking an early version of Ronald McDonald and the Burger King.  This many entries and the thread doesn't go main for another 6 days, this will not end well, LOL.

That was a good guess, however this is J.P. Patches. Longest running locally produced (Seattle) childrens show in US history. It was live, unrehearsed improv twice a day. That explains the train wreck. Actually it had a touch of genius to stay on TV that long.
