Better to fight ebola over there so we don't have to fight it over here.

Well, there will likely be a few less homeopaths in the world, so that could, in some circles, be seen as a net plus.

I'm willing to put up with this nonsense for people who want to improve their chi, or help with a stiff neck, but when you're dealing with a communicable and fatal disease it's beyond the pale.  They should have their licenses revoked.

Or, you know, exposed to Ebola. Think of it as evolution in action.

They'll just toss the few of them that remain into a swimming pool and then there will be more than ever.

Look, the government of Liberia has hired a Witchdoctor with a telephone line to Liberian ancestors who can rid the world of Ebola, so they've got this covered. Chill.

Richard Hiltner, one of the individuals mentioned, is a practicing, licensed physician in Ojai, California. He practices all sorts of bullshiat but in California, they tolerate that stuff.

Why send gays to the front lines in the war on Ebola? They deserve the same rights as everyone else. Thanks a lot, Obama.

H2O2? What are they going to do with hydrogen peroxide? It's might have some legitimate medical use as a disinfectant, so I doubt they'd want anything to do with it.

Yeah, my understanding is that even diehard homeopathy adherents claim that it's only for little things like aches and pains, lingering coughs, etc., and that it never purported to fight major diseases.

Mind you, all of homeopathy is a crock of shiat. I'm just addressing this on its own terms.

Hello?
Yes this is ancestors.

2014-11-14 1:49:35 PM
That's odd. Most homeopaths are smart enough to stick to treating hypochondriacs and self-limiting diseases subject to high levels of placebo effect unless they are also qualified allopathic (scientific) doctors able to use effective medicines and treatments. Ebola is not that kind of disease. It does not respond well to positive thinking.

Oh, well.  As suggested, it is a good way to reduce the homeopathic population, but not really fair to the natives of Africa where they have plenty of witch doctors and mumbo-jumbo mongering neo-Christians and regressive Muslims to kill the unwary.

It would, however, make a wonderful experiment to test the effectiveness of homeopathy versus scientific medicine. If all of the homeopaths die of Ebola while some of the real doctors survive, we may assume they could not save themselves, let alone their patients. Positive proof that their "medicine" is bunkum. They wouldn't be able to claim the results were distorted by scientific propaganda because neither the patients nor the practicioners understand science any better than the average Shaman, a perfect double-blind test therefore.

Just about all medications we have today are not synthetic molecules that are made in some lab. They are active molecules from natural sources that have been extracted, purified and isolated. Warfarin, Penicillin, Digitalis to name a few...

These homeopaths are irresponsible...

I am back from reading the article and I am OUTRAGED!

None of you Farkers read it, did you? did you?

Or else you would have mentioned that one of the remedies the homeopaths will be "testing" is Spanish Fly.

And how could you have missed that one of the doctors is from Germany and the other is named Hiltner and from California?

What, no California jokes?
No Monty Python references?
No Godwinning the thread?

Hang your heads in shame, people!

And you, Subby! Where was the Spanish Fly joke?

Tisk, tisk, tisk. If I really cared I would be mad at you. But sadly, I only care for the poor people who are going to play the role of the control group in yet another devistating proof of the ineffectuality and pseudo-scientific basis of 18th century Germany crap pseudo-science.

Is there any way we can take down the hypo-medicinal crap lobby in Congress and Parliament? Maybe making this a test of the effectiveness of homeopathy pour de vrai by establishing proper controls and record-keeping?

Exactly my point.  I know I'm getting laughed at for mentioning licenses, but for those who read the article, the guy is actually licensed.  Take away his ability to claim that he represents the medical community at large.

Oh shiat! I've been having unprotected sex in homeopathic doses for ages now! I'm a dead man.

I've been having more homeopathic sex than a nunnery full of ninety year old nuns!

*****************************************************

He's dead Jim.

What killed him?

Nothing, Jim. It was homeopathy. He drank a bottle of perfectly distilled water that fell off the back of a truck and died from every disease known to man.

How is that posible?

Dammit, Jim! I'm a simple country doctor, not a metaphysician. I'm not paid the big bucks to answer impossible questions about nonsense that doesn't exist.
