Oh, this is a real game? I thought it was a pre-preseason scrimmage.

Still lots of football left-they could pull it out.

Dinosaurs might invade Manhattan, too. Both about as likely.

At first when I read the headline, I thought it couldn't be THAT bad could it?   I was wrong.  So very wrong.  It was that bad.

Why are interceptions counted the same as punt or kickoff returns? One is defense, one is special teams.

Julio Jones got my last-place Fantasy Football team kick-started to perhaps their first win of the season! To think I almost benched Jones in favor of Brian Quick (STL), who figures to have a good day Sunday against the Cowboys!

Okay, okay, I actually just moved Quick to Flex, and sat Isaiah Crowell (CLE) instead, but same difference.

Valid point but watching the game even in the middle of the second quarter it looked like playing Madden on easy mode.

Tampa looked that bad but the "experts" picked them as the team to look out for as coming up and winning the NFC south. Guess they earned their paychecks.

Atlanta has a defensive back named Callme Ishmael?

I'm too lazy to look it up.

And yet somehow even after giving up 56, the team I'm playing in fantasy has Bucs defense and got 20 points last night.  Wtf, Yahoo scoring?

Yahoo has been on crack this year. Nothing makes sense.

Well, they did have some success.  Remember in the first quarter when Barron recovered a fumble?  Ok, it was only for 3 seconds or so, but it counts!  Really, it does.

And of course you have to count the pick-6 at the end of the game even if Atlanta had subbed in the waterboy, a couple of cheerleaders and the kid with a rare disease they'd given free tickets to.

Did Lovie not see how badly Kiffin got mauled last year in Dallas? Tampa 2 is D-E-A-D; modern WRs will eat a secondary alive with quick throws underneath.

Atlanta even shot their QB in the face with pregame fireworks to even things up.

You should be playing in an NFL.com league. Much more consistent on scoring, excellent interface, lots of useful information at your fingertips.

Isn't it enshrined in the Constitution that the Bucs must run the Tampa 2?

I definitely prefer yahoo, the interface is better IMO, and it is a lot more conducive to having a conversation within the league and talking smack.  Plus, it is probably just me but for some reason Chrome doesn't like NFL.com, I have to open a new tab to get any links or windows to open...not a big deal but mildly annoying.

Of course Yahoo completely farked my draft night up, which is basically an order of magnitude worse...but I am giving them one more chance because I really do like the way the pages are setup and I am so used to their tools for player searching.

/Plus they have all the year-to-year records for my league which is fun...
//YMMV of course, to each their own

Whoever is doing their projections and analysis smokes crack daily.  That and I wish there was some more granularity in the scoring settings, but I'm not going to complain too much for a free league.  Also don't like the fact that the Reserve slot lets you stash suspended/exempted players same as IR....

The Bucs had a pick-six, fumble recovery, and some sacks (I think? I stopped watching after said P6) against Atlanta's fourth-string lineup of make-a-wish kids near the end of the game.

My yahoo league has some modified defensive scoring. The bucs got 20.48 points on 1 pick, 1 sack, 3 fumble recovery, 1 TD, 1 3&out and 87 ret yards. We give bonus points to yards allowed, 3&outs and 4th down stops in addition to the basic points allowed, picks, etc. Most teams are projected between 15 and 20. You can see as low as 6 (miami last week) and upwards of 35 (38 for buffalo last week). I played the former and sat the latter (but still won!) In our league you typically average around 120 points/game but potentially much higher (i had a pair of 200 pt games last year). The best part was when we switched to decimal scoring from 1pt/10yds rushing/receiving. Frustrating games were lost by 2 yards. Does anyone prefer that?

I prefer it. I'd rather not have the D/ST decide the result of a matchup. Also, we use .1 per yard for RB/WR/TE and .04 per yard for QB. It makes it really hard to end a matchup with a tie, which can be really frustrating as the commissioner.

Been checking out the rules this morning. League scoring stops counting points against after 35. 35+ is -4 pts. So a team could give up 100 points and it wouldn't matter because the max that the league scores against is 35.

They had a pick sick, 4 turnovers, and 3 sacks. But still by my yahoo league's scoring they should have only had 13 points.

I comish our Yahoo league and modified defensive scoring a bit as well to give them weight similar to a QB and we have a D starter on the roster who will score a bit more than your avg TE. I like Defense so I wanted it to have a place.

As for the game last night, my opponent started Rainey and there was a point in the third quarter where he had -.90 pts. Though he did eventually finish with 7.50.

Yeah and looking at just those turnovers you would think they had a great game. Instead they let up a score that happens what, maybe once a year? No way they should've sniffed double digits after that, even with the turnovers.

Everyone in the league agreed to the scoring so I have to accept it, but that sucks.

Nine turnovers in a game? Complete and utter non-competitive blowout? There's that quality Thursday football we were promised.

Boy, that Josh McCown is really tearing shiat up as a starter. I still can't believe there were idiots in Chicago who didn't understand his smoke-and-mirrors performance last year.

Although, in all fairness to him, trying to play offense for Lovie Smith is hard to do well.

Yes. Some people would be begging for Grossman over Cutler. I'm less high on Cutler than I used to be, but I still scratch my head when I heard people in Chicago whining about Cutler after his 4 TD game @ SF last week. They don't live in reality when it comes to Bears QBs... the next guy the Bears would start at QB is always the next Favre to them.

That was the most amusing game I've seen in years.

The bucs looked like a garbage fire. They only scored points because atl put in the second string and mr. Pick 6 tj yates.

Thanks for taking him,

It was even worse than the beat-down that Washington put on Jacksonville last week. Although at least TB didn't give up 10 sacks.

Then again, I'm not sure TB actually ran 10 offensive plays.
