At first I was thinking that "deportation" instead of "extradition" meant that he was here for all that time as a legal permanent resident, but never could be arsed to naturalize. And I was kind of sad about that, because there would be a lot more poring over the specifics of the case by the US State Department if he were a citizen first, and this poor, dumb schmuck had made a bad move by not "completing the journey," as it were.

Then I saw that he snuck in on a borrowed/stolen passport, and has just been on the lam for all these years. So, fark him.
