If I'm the employer, I'm damned sure going to consider criminal history.

Big thing would be violent vs nonviolent felony.

If you did the crime and then did the time, I would still be willing to hire, but I as an employer should never be denied background information that could legitimately affect the job.

Good for them for at least trying to eliminate the barriers to post-incarceration employment. The correctional-industrial complex has created an underclass.
