Americans traditionally love the sting of twisted metal mixed with the sweet aroma of smoking flesh on the nation's highways.

And everybody else, just like every summer.

I just got done spending 3 months of the worst midwest winter of my adult life having my work commute ruined by snot nosed brats sliding into ditches, i'm calling bullshiat on this headline.

I wouldn't give a hoot in hell for someone who said they dragged and lost

And soccer moms, and road warriors, and people from other countries who can't drive worth a farking damn or know how to use a turn signal because that behavior is 'normal' there....

/not a fan of bad drivers

edmo: And everybody else, just like every summer.

I would think summertime driving would be safer in Florida since all old folks return North then.

That's why Montes, the agency's spokeswoman for the Central Florida region, has laid down the law for her 16-year-old son: Wear your seat belt. Don't speed. Slow down in the rain.

Guess what? teen's don't wear seatbelts, drive like they stole it and don't care if its raining or not - especially in Orlando and on I-4. Which is a good thing, because we hand out weekly Darwin awards around here.

Evidently, the obvious tag is on an Alaskan cruise.

This is very old news:

Teenagers have been misbehaving behind the wheel since the wheel was put into the car.

go Darwin go, teenage driving is one of the few things that we still have to weed out the slow and the dumb.

Too many scantily clad women walking around distracting them?

Florida? Was the Obvious tag busy crashing into a tree while drunkenly texting and getting a handy?

My GF and I were damn near killed by a teenage driver being too careful, except for that whole turn signal thing.

We were crossing a yield on green left turn because the driver in the lane furthest from us was going to pass, and the car behind was far enough back for us to make it, until she basically stopped at a green light to make a right turn, and halfway through the turn, activate her signal.

/The other driver was good enough in their giant truck to pop halfway up on the median to avoid an accident.

Well my mom and pop told me, "Son you gotta make some money,
If you want to use the car to go ridin' next Sunday"
Well I didn't go to work, told the boss I was sick
"Well you can't use the car 'cause you didn't work late"
Sometimes I wonder what I'm a gonna do
But there ain't no cure for the summertime blues
