Both myself and your grandson love you very much & miss you a lot (my dad passed away in 1983, 3 days before my son's 3rd birthday). ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I never had much to say to my dad when he was alive.

Thank you for the pony. And for teaching me how to play tennis.
2014-06-14 11:37:48 PM
Thanks for teaching me how to be, dad. Miss you.

No, Dad, what about you?
2014-06-14 11:57:28 PM
I guess you did the best you could. I know you tried, anyway. Thanks for that.

Why were you so bitter all the time and never took an emotional interest in my life?

Thanks for teaching me that my honor is the one thing that only I can lose.
2014-06-15 12:06:55 AM
Thanks for the reminder (yet again) that I have to give him a call tomorrow.  I'll probably start with, "Happy Father's Day!"
2014-06-15 12:08:53 AM
Dad, we're trying everything we can to make the 48 wreck!  Can you help us out a bit?

/yeah, he was a huge NASCAR fan
//he absolutely hated Jeff Gordon... but hated He Who Shall Not Be Named worse
2014-06-15 12:09:27 AM
My Dad's still alive and loaning me money (interest-free) to start my own business.  I'm saying thanks any chance I get.
2014-06-15 12:09:35 AM
Mom won't tell me.  Why does it say previous children "1" on my birth certificate?

Also, thank you for all the science and books and natural history you exposed me to.  Can't wait to see you in two weeks and we can fly that RC Corsair I've rebuilt.

How much I admire his artwork and statues now. I was too young to realize what a gifted artist he was. Also thank him for my sense of empathy and manners to others.

And I wish he could see how similar we've become. What he did with clay I know do with human muscles. I get asked often if my hands ever get tired and I can honestly say no. I think it was from the time spent watching him sculpt and the bits of clay he would give me to play with. I'm a Massage Therapist for those of you wondering.

He was gone way too soon.

/Thank you for this thread...I'm crying but I'm also appreciating the awesome childhood I had.

I can't believe gorgor has been gone that long.  He was the best.

propasaurus: F*ck you.

You must be my brother
2014-06-15 12:11:46 AM
Thanks for teaching me or setting me on the path to learn all the technical things I know.

In the midst of a full gut renovation on a house, no way I'd be in the place to buy a house if I couldn't buy needing work then do all the work.

You were your share of an asshole from time to time, but Dad, I love you.

"I'm no longer a Pinko."
2014-06-15 12:13:05 AM
Thank you (and Mom) for raising us right and making us strong enough to somehow muddle on without you.

And I so very much with you were both still here.
2014-06-15 12:13:57 AM
Maybe if you spent as much time with your sons as you have trying to pick up floozies, you'd have a relationship with one of them. Maybe if you weren't drunk or high all the time, you could have got off your lazy ass and done a few things past my 10th birthday.

Oh, wait, I can still tell him that.
2014-06-15 12:14:12 AM
What have you been up to for the last 43 years?
2014-06-15 12:14:33 AM

doyner: I can't believe gorgor has been gone that long.  He was the best.

what ever happened to gorgor? I miss his photoshop entries.

I turned out OK in spite of you, but nice try, douche.
2014-06-15 12:16:12 AM
You were a worthless piece of junk, but thanks for the sperm I guess....
2014-06-15 12:16:55 AM
I have no idea what to say.  I know him less than I know most of my friends.  I'll call him and tell him happy fathers day because I should.  But honestly, I have no real attachment to the man.
2014-06-15 12:19:24 AM
Now that you've been dead for a while, do you think I should have put you down back in '02? We let you keep hanging on for so long, you didn't have any perspective left then. I'm sorry, but I doubt Mom and my brother would have let me anyway. I'm a lot better now, bro isn't, and moms feeling her age. Even if you didn't have Parkinson's you probably would have passed by now, and I'm done resenting the weight I had to carry because of it.

I never told you the dream about the revolver, wouldn't have mattered you were completely delusional by then.
2014-06-15 12:19:29 AM
Fark you you farkin' farker!
2014-06-15 12:20:00 AM
Thank you for raising me three time zones away from our dysfunctional extended family.
2014-06-15 12:20:09 AM
Dad, thanks for taking a shot in the dark.
2014-06-15 12:20:52 AM
I wish that I had the chance to know you.  (My dad committed suicide when I was 2)
2014-06-15 12:21:03 AM
Not a damn thing.
2014-06-15 12:21:27 AM
I will outdo you in every way yet never be half the man you are.

Missed you dad, nice to see you again even though its a Fark comment.
2014-06-15 12:22:38 AM
I still can, but I'm too cowardly to ask him about it even though he's still alive.  He hurt me bad when I was four because he was having nightmares about Vietnam and I tried to wake him up from a nap, but we never talked about it.  My mother made him go get some help and it never happened again, but we've never talked about it.  If I even bring up the idea of Vietnam he shuts down.

So I guess it's less what I would say and more what I'd like him to say, if that makes sense.  Still, for whatever still bothers him he came back, ran a successful business, and provided pretty well.  So every year I still tell him thank you.  He did a good job.

And he's always had an awesome sense of humor.  I bought an expensive car years ago and when I finally drove it home for a visit, the first ride we had together was the morning after I had been out drinking with high school friends.  I ripped a beer fart two minutes into the ride and he called my mom on his cell and said "Mary?  We raised a son who's not only stupid enough to waste money on a ridiculous car, but he shiats in it, too.  I think he gets that from your side of the family."

Hurry up and die you son of a biatch.
2014-06-15 12:23:47 AM
Miss you, Dad. Enjoying that piece of the action.

I think you would love your grandson.

I'd say "well, at least we have a better relationship than 90% of the other Farkers and their dads." Wow...

/first Fathers Day without him.

Can I please have my power drill back? Oh, and you should get that thing looked at.

I keep telling people that Arthritis killed you, but really it was your abuse of the pain meds. While I take after you on a lot of things (damn you) seeing you being an addict kept me far away from drugs (legal and otherwise) and other things.  So, there is that.

Why did you leave after I was born? I don't even know who you are.
2014-06-15 12:25:57 AM
I've missed you for years, and I think about you every day.  You were an absolute inspiration to Wendy (sister) and I, and I wish you could have lived to see her daughter be born and grow up.  My niece will accomplish great things, and we have you to thank for it.

Love you, and wish you were here...
