Took me a minute to realize this chick was real and not part of the oddities museum display...

It belongs in a museum.

Seriously wish I had known this collection existed BEFORE it freaking closed down, I love shiate like this.  If I had a time machine the first place I would visit would be P.T. Barnum's American Museum.  Hopefully not while it was burning to the ground.

Wow, that sucks. I used to work with James, pretty cool guy.

A lot of kindling grade artifacts in that place.

This isn't the first time it's been closed. I didn't know it had re-opened in DC but this is the same museum that we used to have in Baltimore.

The Dime Museum was one of my favorite places in Baltimore. The owners sold me some cool old brass thingamajigs once.

But I traveled all this way just to give her the Blind Watchers Eye and the Pelvis of Pelagius!
Now what am I going to do?

I would buy all of that. And get divorced. And live out my lonely existence with my oddities. Please do not green any links to any auctions.

Hmmm. I wonder if the Mutter Museum will be adopting some of these things?

I grew up in DC and spent time in Bmore and never heard of these places. Bummer.

I do remember going to the Walter Reed museum as a 7 yo and seeing some verifiably freaky (and legit) stuff. I think there was like a three headed baby. Wonder if there was any crossover here, like a Marvel movie.
