Don't reach into the field of play and touch the players or the ball. In San Francisco that is an automatic ejection from the ballpark. It's a good rule and it is strictly enforced.

It's not a good rule. Lighten up.

Ever since that genius father-and-son pair ran onto the field and beat the shiat out of that Royals coach, safety's been a touchy issue with the sport. I don't blame their policy.

But can I still do the "I'm not touching you" thing?

Slaxl: It's not a good rule. Lighten up.

Monica respectfully disagrees...

You are not allowed to touch rich important folk like ballplayers

He's right. If you see him somewhere and want to shake his hand, fine, but don't touch him while he's on the field in the middle of a game.

Iowan73: He's right. If you see him somewhere and want to shake his hand, fine, but don't touch him while he's on the field in the middle of a game play.

Bad enough to touch him during a game, even worse that it was a live ball that he was getting ready to throw.  You can have 40000 well behaved fans in the stands, it only takes one idiot to cause a problem, and I think that's what the players really worry about.

I'm guessing subby says the same thing to the little girls he touches on the bus.

Fan came pretty close to grabbing Granderson's arm as he was throwing, which is a pretty easy way to get hurt.

Loved watching the fan go from "what, I didn't do anything?" to "u mad bro?" to "yes sir, I apologize, I'll shut up now."

Subby is wrong to invoke Hulka meme. You don't touch the players while they're playing.

He should look at the bright side, it's better to have a Mets fan touch you than a pinstriped pig
