Jacob Two-Two is the only one I can think of.

Red Green, Kids In the Hall, Trailer Park Boys, Fraggle Rock, You Can't Do That on Television.   Used to watch Edgemont mostly to look at Kristin Kreuk, and Degrassi Next Generation or whatever it's called for the hot chicks.

Da Vinci's Inquest. One of the best shows on TV period.

Canada smells of wet dog and feet.

Since most of the thread is shows that are no longer on the air:

Forever Knight.

Arctic Air

In the past:
Being Erica
Da Vinci's Inquest

Do they still make new Red Green episodes?  I haven't seen any in years, but I would love to Netflix it from day one to whatever the latest is.

Also, Due South was good.  Great theme music (the instrumental version at the end).

\Don't really know if that was actually Canadian or not.
2014-03-29 10:33:43 PM
Red Green, You Can't Do That on Television, and SCTV. Nothing recent that I'm aware of though.
2014-03-29 10:33:44 PM
Hey whats that show about CSIS called? It was a two season Canadian version of The Wire featuring a tiny dude and the Canadian Chris Penn lookalike. The unintentional comedy was off the charts.

I went through a phase where I was obsessed with watching every single episode of Corner Gas on youtube. And I've seen Little Mosque on the Prairie a couple times.

nanim: Do we count the ones that are filmed in Canada by American networks...?

2014-03-29 10:34:58 PM

optikeye: You'd be surprised how many shows are filmed in Canada.

The X-Files is one of them but there are many, many others---here's just the SciFi shows.
 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_science_fiction_TV_and_radio_s how s_produced_in_Canada

^^^ This.  What qualifies a show to be considered "Canadian"?

Just about everything on the SyFy channel is filmed & produced in Canada, do those count?

Trailer Park Boys may just be one of the funniest TV shows ever made

Holmes filled with righteous indignation over unethical contractors is a thing of beauty.
2014-03-29 10:36:03 PM
22 Minutes, Rick Mercer, and David Suzuki,  still plugging away at "The Nature of Things."

Americans can't make nature / science shows for people with IQs above 80 or so. Canada seems to cater to non-morons.

I REALLY enjoyed Iceberg Hunters on TWC!

Nefarious: Orphan Black

Yes, yes, and very much yes

DLinds: I really loved Corner Gas. Wish we could still get the reruns.

Fark meme is Corner Gas sucked because.....Everybody Loves Raymond sucked, too.

I like that Brent Butt looked like a Brent Butt.

I'm sure someone told him to change his name to Frankie LaFleur or Larry Messier but he said no, I'm Brett Butt dammit.

My vote is for Corner Gas, may not have been flashy but it was a fine ensemble with good writing and a (sometimes) subtle humor.  Made me want vacation in Saskatchewan.  Hank was great.
2014-03-29 10:38:48 PM

HotWingAgenda: I like Rookie Blue, mostly just because of Missy Peregrym.

As far as I know, that's the only Canadian show I watch. I've been watching a lot of Australian shows on Hulu lately though.

jso2897: Da Vinci's Inquest. One of the best shows on TV period.

seconded.  also liked Flashpoint.  Still watching Republic of Doyle.  Makes me want to move to Newfoundland.  Really.
2014-03-29 10:39:40 PM
Continuum, Lost Girl, Republic of Doyle, Rookie Blue, Saving Hope, Bitten, Remedy, Spun Out, Package Deal. Those are the ones that are still on the air that I can think of.

I have a confession to make: I can't tell the difference between Canadian and US shows.

That reminds me ... I've been playing South Park stick of truth and whenever you visit Canada in the game, most of the time you end up with "Dire Aids"...  Thanks Canada!

Slings and Arrowsis one of the best TV shows, Canadian or otherwise, there has ever been.   The Yard is good for a chuckle, too.

There were a couple of cool shows on PBS that were canadian exports (and yes, William B. Davis was in both). MythQuest was aimed at the tween audience but was pretty cool and I loved Murdoch Mysteries

I remember 'Kids in the Hall' during my college days between 2000 to 2004.

Lots of good ones, but yes, TPB is probably the greatest television that's ever televisioned.

Aren't nearly all the shows on HGTV and DIY Canadian?

I don't enjoy them but my mom is glued to them all day when I check in on her.

loonatic112358: Real Canadian shows or secret Canadian shows, cause so many tv shows are filmed in Canada it's hard to tell what's not Canadian

If it takes place in America, and the streets are clean, it was filmed in Canadaland.

\American, embracing the stereotype.  Like I have a choice.

Aired in both the US and Canada, but Canada got the better extended-edition of the episodes *shakes tiny fist*

*sigh*... I wish they would have made a movie.. had a huge cult following in it's day.
