propasaurus: Definitely felt it in the Valley, much less shaking than the last one, I guess since it was further away. But it went on for a long time.
shower_in_my_socks: In the past 90 minutes La Habra has had a 3.6, a 5.1, a 3.4, and another 3.6. That's just not a fun way to go to sleep.
ecmoRandomNumbers: Those little ones are disquieting because you don't know if they're going to get bigger.
MaudlinMutantMollusk: Earthquakes and measles/I think I'd break out the toad umbrellas if I were you folks
cman: Isnt Cali supposed to split from the US in a few hundred years? My high school education up there in Northern California wasn't exactly the best.

Close2TheEdge: I'm not saying it's God's wrath. But it's God's wrath.[wp.patheos.com.s3.amazonaws.com image 603x472]
gfid: Is 5.8 a big deal?I don't even know. It sounds kind of small. I was looking at the usgs webpage a few years ago and was surprised by how many earthquakes happen around me and never feel.
Summoner101: I'm from WA and I wouldn't get out of bed for less than a 7
zarker: cman: Isnt Cali supposed to split from the US in a few hundred years? My high school education up there in Northern California wasn't exactly the best. The fault line that causes the main California earthquakes is the San Andreas fault and it's off the coast. It's pretty much impossible to "break off". I think the way the plates are we'll go under, but we'll have Nevada, and everyone else well in tow.

AbiNormal: Sorry, scratching my balls.
Lapdance: Well you want to live there, fine. The weather's Great but the ground moves around some. There are wildfires that burn everything down sometimes too. OK. All we have back east here are crummy winters some years, this one in particular and on occasion a Hurricane might get close or actually hit you. Where would I rather be? HMMM. Yeah it's better to be on Solid ground where you probably won't Burn.
Teknowaffle: I was looking at pictures of damage that people submitted, and holy shiat there were a crap load of pictures of bookcases that fell over onto beds.Secure your shiat people! When I lived in California everything was bolted down.Hopefully this will be a wake up call. So Cal has had it pretty easy since the early 90s, and I think a lot of people got complacent.
