Subby may be on to something...

If you are getting a skull replacement, why just get a regular skull-shaped skull?  Might as well upgrade!  Maybe a true block-head skull, or something with horns or convenient storage compartments or something.

I smell photoshop opportunities...

Wait til the anthropologist dig her up.  In the 1900s to 2100s, the ancient humans experimented with body replacement parts hoping to appease a god of oil.  Here, a high priestess has sacrificed the bones in her skull in the hope that oil producing prefectures and fracking wizards will produce more oil for consumption.

zulius: gopher321: TwistedIvory: What about if I'm run over by an asshole in a car yammering on a 3d-printed phone?

What if its a 3D printed car? In a 3D printed city? IN A 3D PRINTED WORLD???!!!

You wouldn't download a car!

I would totally download a car! Except I'd download something labeled as a Chevy Corvette but it would actually be a Geo Prism. Or it would be password protected and you'd have to sign up for a bunch of spam to find out it was the wrong car anyway!

kidgenius: I'm waiting for someone to jump on the opportunity to offer 3d printed fetuses. They already have the "4d" ultrasounds, which really are just a 3d can of the fetus. Would be rather trivial to take that point cloud and change it into something you could 3d print. Now the parents can have a little model of what their baby looks like before its born.

I could swear I've already seen that product somewhere.

LazyMedia: Wow, they used the miracle of 3D printing to make a plastic thing that could have been cast a hundred years ago or vacuformed in the '50s. What other wonders will 3D printing perform today?

Compared to 3d printing, how fast and accurately are those methods able to create a one-off product?
