Why hate Ken Ober so much, Subby?

Seriously though, the mark of current civilization is when you walk into someone's home, and they either have one remote, or the giant pile of the bajillion different ones. :D

I like how the author bemoans that when it comes to current remotes "users the world over are forced to navigate alphanumeric keyboards or endless channel lists with single directional button presses", then just two paragraphs later states, "Media streaming devices like Roku, Apple TV...have also effectively begun redesigning the remote control, jettisoning the legion of buttons in favour of simple, slimmed-down schemas of interaction that actually adhere to a general standard of form and function" which force users to navigate alphanumeric keyboards or endless channel lists with single directional button presses.

/Harmony One (for 99% of my remote needs) + iPhone apps for the TiVo and ApppleTV (for the 1% of the time I want a keyboard) = happy Gecko
