papajoefong: Headso: papajoefong: The biggest opponents of this legislation in Alabama were the pro-pot crowd because the idea of non-intoxicating, non-smokable medical marijuana works against their agenda. This legislation didn't go far enough for them because is doesn't allow docs to write scripts for anyone to smoke up because they have "glaucoma."

Their agenda being cannabis is good for a wide variety of ailments and it is a harmless plant so worth trying to alleviate symptoms.

Perhaps.  So why wouldn't proponents of medical marijuana back a bill that legalized a specific application of medical marijuana?  The fact that the application in question is non-intoxicating makes me suspicious.

It depends on perspective.

Having this passed is a concrete, but tiny, step forward. However if will increase resistance to further steps forward in the short term as opponents will claim they already gave them that much.

If you think you can pass full medical marijuana right now, then this will slow it down. If you don't think you can pass it now, it is a step forwards until you can.

Only the oil and only for treating seizures. Only one hospital can prescribe....pretty restrictive.
