i used to live right by columbus park off of hamilton avenue. after 10 the tall tee quotient got too high so you'd have to go inside. instead of crickets you'd hear chirp phones at night. there were a decent number of altercations in and around that sketchy ass park.

To be fair Most "Martin Luther King Boulevards" are not located in the nicest parts of cities. It's not like criminals find it's more fun to commit crimes on MLK Blvd.

Actually because of the stigma of things happening on streets named after him, cities should either put his name on streets more centrally located in better areas of just remove his name from these rough areas.

Doesn't sound to me like this was just a bar fight gotten out of hand. Some kind of a war going on, sounds like.
Some innocents might have gotten hit in the crossfire, but it's a good bet that the people who were shooting and the people who were being intentionally shot at were probably not nice folks.
