What if they market them in Massachusetts?

vudukungfu: What if they market them in Massachusetts?

And then we tactically nuke Massachusetts? Hmm. It might work.

I really don't understand the preemptive "Google glass people are d-bags" line. I won't be buying a set but I'm not going to label a group of people because someone, for whatever reason, doesn't like what they like.

It sounds more like it's the trendy thing to do to bash these things. Which makes the bashers the real assholes.

"Last week at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Blippar showed off new marketing technology for Glass-an augmented reality app that delivers content triggered by real-world interactions. For instance, a wearer might see a billboard that Blippar's software recognizes, then sets off a Glass experience."

Step 1: Create billboard that will activate a "Glass experience" and put it by a highway / Interstate / Turnpike / freeway.
Step 2: Driver's Glass begins full ad presentation: music, video, screaming banshees, tasteful nudity.
Step 3: Driver crashes.
Step 4: ???
Step 5: PROFIT!

A few weeks ago I went to a Google Glass test drive event. It was rather disappointing. Because the image is an overlay, bright light, white walls, or visual clutter behind the image causes it to be difficult or impossible to read. I had to hold out my hand in front of my face to provide a backdrop for the image to contrast against. I'm sure there is a way to change the color of the text but it's not automatic. In sunlight, forget about it. And this was in a space set up for the demo. Can't imagine how much worse it would be in real life situations.

The group of 20 somethings they had doing the demos were easy on the eyes, so they had that going for them, which was nice.
