tigerose: lilyspad: tigerose: Ok, let me ask a question of our smokers..I do not smoke, and I am super sensative to the smell of smoke on a person..well, we have this volunteer for our after school reading program. Parents sign their kids up..any how, this gal who will be in my work space 4 days a week, absolutely reeks of smoke and um..dirt. It is so bad that today it made me sick to my stomach. Is there a way I can talk to her about this? She just reeks..no other way to describe it...i do not know what to do. Today I actually left the library, because the smell was so strong...help!Are you the person in charge, or do you have a supervisor?I have a supervisor, and I did send her an email about this. Funny, she is a casual smoker, but she is definitely on my side. I had talked to her previously about this.
hawaiijenno: Anyone have any advice related to rabbits? Husband & I visited with a lovely flemish giant named Barnaby at the local animal shelter, but neither of us has any bunny experience. He's 10 months old, freshly neutered and 16 lbs. [img.fark.net image 850x635]
Diocletian's Last Cabbage: lilyspad: ferfer72: Real Women Drink Akvavit:/are there any fauxlidays in the US where drinking is not only socially acceptable, but kinda expected?//I'm asking for a friend///and scienceI'm pretty sure that's every US holiday. You forgot those...... :DVeteran's Day, Flag Day, D-Day, National Pancake Day, International Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day, National Pancake Day, International Underwear-On-Head Day... uhh... now?
Canadian Lurker: This week, my cat Sterling got sprayed by a skunk, again.Considering his age and aggressive attitude, bathing him in tomato juice is no longer an option.Fed up with his smelly stubborness, I told Sterling to go stick his head under a faucet or something.[i176.photobucket.com image 550x550]
CaveGirlMel: Diocletian's Last Cabbage: CaveGirlMel: yay for Caturday !! This is Bella, the newest member of the family! Bout 6 and 1/2 months old.[img.fark.net image 708x507]WELCOME BELLA (ow, my head)! Enjoy the gushy food and scrachy toys.Welcome, CaveGirlMel./Can I have a bite of yer cookie? Thanks !! (i just got home from work.. so replies are late.. )Of course you can have a bite!! Cookies for everyone !Tigerose- I brought Awesome cookies... that's what kind lol. We've had her for 2 weeks now, I got her from a girl i work with, who in my opinion, is a bad pet owner. She's getting fixed very shortly(and according to my vet i was talking to when pricing spay surgeries, said that she should have been fixed at at least 5 months old). I also learned shortly after i brought her home that she's never been the vet at all, So i'm going to be seeing if they can do her boosters the same day she gets fixed. I've never been so disgusted with a pet owner as i was with her previous owners. Plus the fact that her 6 yr old used to practically maul her(i saw first hand, which is why i think she's not a fan of being picked up, seems like she's warming up to it slowly now).My son on the other hand is thrilled ! She's one of his (very early) Birthday presents(he's almost 5) and tell's me all the time that he's glad we have Bella and how much he loves her. She's spoiled and he constantly plays with her. he doesn't even try to pick her up, he's more content to just sitting next to her to pet her.I never knew how much i missed having a cat around until we got her. She sleeps next to me, attacks my toes in the morning, chews on her cat grass and runs around most days like she's on crack, she's awesome lol.Does any one have any post-op tips on how to keep her from picking at her stitches(for when she goes in to get spayed) ? I had cats growing up, but i don't remember the time when my parents got them fixed or how they kept them from picking at it.Of course i had to add a seco ...

The white one is drinking and urinating (yay), but still rather frequently and it remains blood tinged (boo). Also, his appetite is a touch off, and he is obviously a bit uncomfortable as he is more restless than usual. However, I just spoke to the vet, and she says all of this is normal and are good signs that he is getting over the hump, it will just take time to allow the meds to kick in. (breathes huge sigh of relief) We both love you all, and the white boy wants to let you know that he is "resting comfortably", as they say...[i415.photobucket.com image 640x458]
