ferfer72: Does rolling around in glitter help?
Brian Blessed's Bastard Boy: Have to work this weekend, after working four straight days with only yesterday off. Ugh. But everything here is going well enough. Second date was last night and we both had a good time. Planning on something again next weekend, so, so far so good. Kittehs are still crazy, as somehow Adama has gone nuts here the last few days. Probably decided it was time to show Starbuck that she wasn't the only one allowed to go psycho in the house. Hopefully these next three days go quickly, and I can finally have a couple of days to get the house in order and relax some. Have a great day everyone.
ferfer72: Real Women Drink Akvavit:ferfer72: Does rolling around in glitter help?Pffft. Well, YEAH. Rolling in glitter always helps EVERYTHING. It's right up there with booze and chocolate that way. Why the hell else would you roll in glitter? I try and keep mine limited to my fingernails because it's scratchy in your eyes, but it's obviously there for a reason. Cats know this. They probably inspired humans to invent glitter in the first place. They're pretty smart that way.<Offers hand to shake.> We haven't met yet, but clearly we should. :) I will tell Catastrophe that she has to limit her glitter fetish to nails only.
Real Women Drink Akvavit: /are there any fauxlidays in the US where drinking is not only socially acceptable, but kinda expected?

AlienDandelion: no no....I just am a magnet for bad luck.
The Ice Queen: So Mr DaVinci had to go to the vet today for boosters. The little shiat won't gain weight. Well, just an ounce or 2. The little snot is a food whore bottomless pit! So we wormed him again just in case as well. He'll probably just be like Bitty and take for-freaking-ever to top the 5# mark.On the other hand, the tech was doing the preliminary exam and she's like "someone lost their first tooth". Yep, little man has a little gap where he lost a tooth in the past day. He's also getting his big boy fangs. He's maturing so fast (can't say growing since the little shiat WON'T GROW!)
Canadian Lurker: This week, my cat Sterling got sprayed by a skunk, again.Considering his age and aggressive attitude, bathing him in tomato juice is no longer an option.Fed up with his smelly stubborness, I told Sterling to go stick his head under a faucet or something.[i176.photobucket.com image 550x550]
SleepyWeasel: Last Saturday we had to put our beloved Sasha down. She was 19 years old and suffering from sinus cancer. She has traveled more than most people, from PA to NC to OK to Okinawa to TX to NC again. The decision was agonizing for us and my wife actually caught flak from Facebook knuckleheads. In response she wrote and posted this on Facebook. I think it sums up everything:It's such an easy thing to sit back and judge, and believe me...I have done my fair share of it too. However, my Mom used to always say that we need to walk a mile in someone else's shoes to really understand them. I've surely lived long enough to realize how true that is. Every day people make choices and decisions that we just don't understand...because we haven't walked that mile in their shoes. ... Let me tell you friends, euthanasia is a hell of a thing ...it really is. To be given the ability, the privilege and the responsibility to end the suffering of a loved one...it's a hell of a thing. However, unless you have looked into the eyes of a beloved pet, a pet that has been your friend and companion for more years than most of the people you know, has traveled with you through countries and states, heart ache, pain and loss, and when your children have taken wing, and found their own paths, this dear friend spent as much time in your child's room, waiting for their return, as you have ...and you have had to try to decide if the quality of their life is gone...so completely gone that the most humane thing you can do is to have them "put down". Unless you have prayed more times than you can count, that you will just wake up one morning and find them...sleeping that endless sleep that will carry them peacefully on to their next life. Unless you have gotten up one morning, after so many mornings of wondering...if today is the day, and you think..."yes, I think this is it...I think it's time." Unless you have fed them their one last favorite meal, and held them tight and told them how special t ...
