sinanju: I've visited Northern Ireland on vacation. It's a lovely place. However, it's a cool climate, so Mrs Sinanju and I went in the summer. We were in Belfast for Eleventh Night, were on our way out of town for the start of the Orange parades, and spent a few nights in a B&B in The Bogside in Derry. It's amazing how just below the surface The Troubles are and, in the case of Eleventh Night, how dramatically one is reminded of them. It's going to be a number of generations before the Orange parades are just things a handful of strange old men do.
