no 5th av. in Billings: Weaver95: Any religion that says rum and coffee is a sin is a dangerous cult that should be avoided at all costs.

Isn't it a little early to be drinking?

You know I've seen each of those words individually, but I don't think I've ever seen them arranged in a sentence like that.

I'm sitting in SLC as we speak. I sit down for an eggs benny and a bloody and guess what? No booze in the airport until 8am (11am for the rest of the state). Seriously Fark this place. I've been working in the northern suburbs of Salt Lake for a few months. The flight home for the weekend is the only highlight of being here. Bars sucks, 3.2% beer on draft only! 3 beers in an hour in restaurants and only 1 per hour after that. Newer restaurants suck since sitting in the bar is boring as hell. Bartenders make drinks/pour behind the Zion's curtain. Fark this ghey ass place.

/Park City is ok though

1nsanilicious: Moses murdered an Egyptian as is said in Exodus, so by your logic he is a false prophet and should be ignored and derided.

So far as we know, Joseph Smith actually existed.
Based on the evidence, Moses is a fictional character.

This doesn't make either of their associated faiths any more authentic or believable, it just makes Moses harder to try and convict.

Lenny_da_Hog: kbronsito: It's fine if you don't want to drink because you never personally liked alcohol.

Pfft. You're the only one on the planet okay with that. Drinkers are by far the more annoying evangelists.

"You don't drink? You must be religious. Or an alcoholic. Or a snooty moralist. Are you sure you don't want a drink? Here, have a drink! You're just a lightweight! C'mon, have a drink. Jeez, something's wrong with that guy, he doesn't drink! Here, let me buy you a drink!"

You're right, that is annoying. I bet it wasn't that way during prohibition!
Hey wait a minute...

mhd: kbronsito: But when the mythical founder of your religion has two defining events that revolve around making sure everyone had some wine, you can't farking tell me that you don't drink because your faith is against alcohol.

On the other hand, make sure that your young'ins don't see you naked after you passed out drunk.

shiat happens when you party naked

EyeballKid: ..."faith" that was come up by a con man...

As opposed to faith that was created by an honest individual who provided considerable data that was able to sway adherents by reason?

no 5th av. in Billings: It stuck out to me right away that booze (beer) advertising in Utah gas stations was noticeably more "over the top" than other places I've been. Really bolstered the disappointment  in seeing it was 3.2 beer. Maybe this needs more warning.

A state swathed in a "faith" that was come up by a con man who swore by plates written in a special language that only he could see is banking on its residents' not reading? Why am I not shocked?

There's an old saying: if you bring one Mormon fishing with you, he's going to drink all your beer. If you bring two Mormons fishing, you get to have all the beer to yourself.

ongbok: per 10,000 people, and New York had almost 9x the population as Utah.

Actual population size isn't important when you're measuring something on a per-capita basis. Now, some measure of density (cars per mile of road) may be useful- New York is much denser.

Utah had the lowest number of alcohol-related traffic deaths per capita in 2012, the church points out, citing federal highway statistics.

Their number of alcohol related traffic deaths per capita was .292 per 10,000 people. New York was second with .305 per 10,000 people, and New York had almost 9x the population as Utah.
