WhyteRaven74: I suspect this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as cardinals being removed from their posts.

The next step is hopefully to get the altar boys removed from the cardinal's posts.

I picked a bad week to be the Pope's food taster.

Definite possibility for first round draft pick in fantasy next year. Jesus is still a contender though. His cross route is infallible.

fusillade762: What does God need with a bank?

Manna doesn't just pay for itself.

Scotty: I'd keep Jesus in mind for quarterback. He throws a Hail Mary like you wouldn't believe.

Abacus9: Capo Del Bandito: Abacus9: Ratzinger. And when you're that powerful, it can be just that easy, but it will still take time for the investigations.

I suppose it *could* be. But auditing a company, internal or third party, is a biatch and requires a farkton of work. That kind of info probably isn't just in a desk somewhere. Willing to bet it's got to be researched and whatnot.

I agree, and that was my point. Frankie has the authority to deliver the order, but the investigations will take time. You can't build a serious case against someone overnight. It will take time to collect evidence.

If only there was some way for them to conduct inquests of certain people to determine whether they were child molesters....something that they would never expect..

What happens when all the disillusioned Catholics are inspired by Francis to go back to church and the first sermon they hear focuses on a lack of money to fix this or that, to purchase blah blah blah. That might get real interesting.

Smoking GNU: Summercat: One of the two big complaints I heard about Francis "NOT FIXING STUFF RIGHT NOW" was the Vatican Bank...

Anyone wanna take a guess at the time period before he starts further addressing the molestation stuff?

Another year or 2, would be my guess.

He's on  a roll and he doesn't seem to be wasting any time. Rome wasn't corrupted in a day.
I admire him.

robohobo: Pope Francis, the pop star of the Catholic Church. Designed for the broadest appeal and bigger donations.

/Vatican II  was and is nonsense constructed for pr and money.

Hopefully Francis is still making his own food like he was earlier last year.

Otherwise you're hosed like a lemur.

Meanwhile, hiring managers at Bank of America or Chase are probably treating this like a glowing reference for those men.

Closing the Vatican Bank is a good step.  Contrary to popular belief, the Vatican bank is a public bank criminals use, like the US stock market.  It's the publicly accessible part of the Vatican finances.

It is a good thing if it's shut down.
