unfarkingbelievable: "Pollenesia!" That's a stroke of brilliance right there, subby. But then again, my sense of humor is rather uncommon.
SoupJohnB: Cool story, Subby. (CSS?) I live in N. Florida, and have the occasional honey bee, wasp or hornet get inside when me and the dog are going in and out. I'm on the "catch and release" program (with spiders and lizards, as well.) A cardboard paper towel tube with a playing card to seal one end is my method for trapping them and showing them the exit, unharmed. The hornets are the real bad-asses, though. Much more aggressive. If they fail to comply, then it's ("sorry, little dude") terminate with extreme prejudice.

The term has been circulating in weather and allergenic circles for years. From whom it really originated is anyone's guess.

santadog: Starting a Top Bar Hive this spring. I would love those bees. And keep them.
Oblio13: santadog: Starting a Top Bar Hive this spring. I would love those bees. And keep them.I have several hives, one of them a top bar. I've never been able to get the top bar through a winter for some reason. Today was fairly warm, and it was the only hive not flying. I tapped on it. No buzz. I figured it was dead again. I lifted the top off. They were still alive. Holy s@#t were they still alive. I'll never do that again.
mathpat: "Who would want a bee as a gift?"
