Yakk: Why do people do this? Wearing the jersey of the visiting team is a terrible idea anywhere, in Philly it's insane though.


Because that player might get hurt.  Then the visiting coach will scan the stands, find someone who is wearing that jersey, and put him in the game.  Why else would you wear a numbered jersey?
