FTFA: Limbaugh, who is not Catholic, said he admires the faith "profoundly."

Despite my bitter resentment against the Catholic church I am starting to like this Pope based merely on the people he is pissing off.

NuttierThanEver: Despite my bitter resentment against the Catholic church I am starting to like this Pope based merely on the people he is pissing off.

Yeah...I think Francis is doing good work here reminding everyone that Christ wasn't a rich banker and that money wont get you preferential treatment in heaven.

Let's not forget Henry II of England

You know, the one who crawled on his knees through the snow to Canterbury and had himself whipped for provoking the assassination of Saint Thomas à Beckett by crying "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?" where there were plenty of men who would be only too happy to comply with the King's wishes and ask "how high?" after they jump the Archbishop.

Every time one of these Conservative demagogues badmouths a politician such as Giffard or Obama or a do-gooder like Pope Francis, they take the same risk, although unlike King Henry II, they aren't even remotely likely to take responsibility for their words should some drunken English knight or half-crack-addled reactionary gap-toothed hillbilly should act out the violence of their rhetoric.

Deniability doesn't even mean that you feign ignorance of events or consequences any more. It's just enough to deny after the fact and howl that the liberals are persecuting and maligning you.

Are you as far from the United States of Lyncherdom as these people pretend to think? Tell it to Mr. Bird who was dragged to pieces behind a redneck racist's pick up truck or Matthew Sheppard, or for that matter, Giffard and Obama (who as far as I know is still regarded as Stalin, Hitler, the Antichrist, Abraham Lincoln, and Martin Luther King all roled into one with Charles Darwin, Gladys Knight and the Pips).

It might be wise for Tuckus Limburger to quit while his fat mouth is ahead of his fat head.

And another thing ... what does that 15,000,000 number mean?

If you consult the ratings agencies, you will find the average listening audience of his radio show is about one million, one million five. Is that 15 million the number of listeners for a year? Is it the number of different people who listen in a year? Is it the number of different people who have ever, even for a moment, listened to his show?

And what percentage of those listeners are ditto heads as opposed to liberals listening for a good left-wing opinion-reinforcing shock or a good laugh at the expense of the Crown Prince of Schlock Radio*?

*Until I hear different, Howard Stern is still the King of All Schlock Media.

Where are Ruckus Headcheese's batallions?

The most current estimate of the population of the United States I have is 312 million, maybe 315. Even if Limburglar had nothing but daily fans rather than intermittent or past drive-by listeners during Rush Hour, he'd be a rounding error in the political life of the nation.
