That parallel universe isn't nearly as cool as the parallel universe where Duane Allman recently turned 67.

/but it's still a pretty cool one

I picked up a guitar when I was 14.  It took me a year for me to really get to listen to Jimi.

I'm 40 now.  Jimi's music is a well I still go back to and find inspiration and awe.

No Star-Spangled Banner from Woodstock.  Pretty big omission.

Bought this thing that hooks from a guitar to my iPhone then to headphones. You can then download aps which are pedals. There's one that has a ton of Hendrix pre-sets as well as singular settings for each of the pedals and amps he used. It's amazing.

Somewhere in a parallel universe

I just left a raging crunk birthday party for of 11 of us that all have the same birthday.

The party warmed up with myself, Bill Nye and elderly Jimi Hendrix and Bruce Lee getting completely out of control in a garage performing crazy awesome science experiments, jamming out and punching Bruce Lee in the stomach while he just laughs at us.

Then the others started to show up and the whole night turned into a haze of awesome.

It was equal parts creep and hot when JFK's daughter and Moneypenny teamed up to make a threesome pass at a very drunk Allison Pill who had about 9 wine coolers too many (Allison didn't do it, all that happened was Pill puked in the back of Samantha Bond's Navigator). However Kennedy and Bond disappeared together for a good hour at one point of the night.

But to be honest at that point in the party we were more interested in the heated impersonation competition running between William Fitchner and James Avery. Avery was winning hands down and Fitchner was so out of his mind (helped his acting tbh) that kept calling James Avery "Carl Winslow" , which neither he nor Jaleel White happened to find amusing (but Jaleel was definitely trying to act like he didn't care).

We'd just finished up with the impersonation lightning round (Christopher Walken one-liners) when Ricky Carmichael who had been doing jumps on a ramp in the driveway for like 4 hours since Jimi dosed him (without his knowledge!) got a bit too tricky and had to dump his bike which came crashing into the garage. No one was hurt but Fitchner (who later had to have a kidney removed).

When Ricky Carmichael, missing half the skin on his left leg, got up and nasally sneered at Jaleel "did I dooo thaaaat?" followed with the laughter of a lunatic that doesn't know he's gone... mad everyone just sort of got quiet and stared like "wtf did that just happen?!"

But then Fitchner (who is bleeding profusely mind you) screamed something drunkenly incoherent towards Avery at the top of his lungs about "Carl cleaning up after Urkles mess" we all lost it and laughed for a good 3 minutes before someone got around to calling an ambulance.

I have a copy of a (approx.) 21 year old Brian May playing "Purple Haze". He had a lot of talent even then.

Arkanaut: No Star-Spangled Banner from Woodstock.  Pretty big omission.

Agreed.  There's also the mistake of labeling the Stevie Ray Vaughn cover of Little Wing as being performed by Jimi.

Who the fark is this Johnny Allen Hendrix fellow?  The Jimi I know was named James Marshall Hendrix.
Also, no "Burning of the Midnight Lamp"?  Failed article is a fail.

This; that should be automatic on a Jimi Top 10 list.

go to jimihendrix.com and
listen to some of the live audience recordings. His sound is different than the soundboard recordings.
