Precious Roy's Horse Dividers: WTF is pop?

You see, in certain parts of the country, pop means 'father'.

trappedspirit: Pop is a verb, not a noun.

Yep, pop is what you do to somebody when they say they want a pop when they really want a coke.  You pop them right in the head.

And soda has ice cream in it.

I love Coke Zero... Tastes great, zero calories, and with the added bonus of causing certain people (who usually don't seem very healthy) to come up and tell me how bad aspartame and all the other "chemicals" in diet soda are.

Due to where I was raised, N. Illinois, I say pop but like "soda" better. I also dislike that I call my dad's sister an ant instead of an aunt like people from New Englad say.

/seems too weird to try to correct how I speak at this point.
//also think we should all use y'all. It's a fantastic word and beats the hell outta "you guys". I don't use it, but I like it.

I've lost significant weight without feeling deprived, by drinking cane sugar soda in a 44 oz. cup of ice. I only fill the cup with the soda half-way, and I let the ice dilute it slowly.  One cup like this lasts me from 8 AM to 6 or 7 PM, replacing 3-4 cans of the straight stuff. The drink is mostly cola-flavored ice water after only the first hour, but enough flavor remains that I don't mind. Sipping the ice water all day keeps me hydrated and less apt to snack. And it doesn't give me hunger pangs like diet soda did, so i don't make up the difference with candy bars. Just that, and taking the stairs going up, instead of the elevator, and I dropped an easy fifteen pounds in 5 weeks.

Try it, can;t hurt. Pro tip: the gas station where I get the cup does the ice refills for free.

Psycat: 1.  Is there a Mrs. Pibb?

With the legalization of gay marriage, there are in fact now two Mr. Pibbs.

I'm going to demonstrate some prescience and say subby is going to feel a little sheepish when he realizes the word he was looking for was somewhere between "present" and "ubiquitous."

Also, for good measure:
